"Irene, you are so lucky to marry the most perfect man in this world."
Seulgi's words when they are having lunch this afternoon plays in repeat since that. She asks herself if she's really lucky. She admits that her husband is handsome, handsome enough to make all the women look at him twice when they walk around Bukit Bintang during weekends. He is smart too. He works at Petronas as junior planning engineer. On weekends, he will attend class at University Malaya as part time student of Master in Mechanical Engineering. He works so hard to improve himself and his family and Irene feels so blessed to have him.
"Sayang....."
Irene quickly look at his husband and smiles softly. She raised her eyebrows with questioning look.
"You seem lost? Any problem that you don't mind to share with your husband. I don't mind listening to your rants."
"Nothing, Abang. I am just thinking about my works."
"Why? Did your clients show up with pile of clothes again? Don't stress up too much, sayang."
"Abang...
Do you love me?"
Suho scoots closer to his wife and hugs her closely. He takes her hands and slowly kisses her knuckles and plays with the ring at her forth finger.
"I won't feel tired saying this but when in doubt, look at this ring and remember how hard I worked for it during my final year when I was so busy with my final year project. I worked hard for it, for us. I hate it when you doubt me because I always love you, I embrace all of your weaknesses and I know you do the same on me. We are never perfect but we work hard to live in our perfect little bubble."
Irene's eyes slowly become watery. Suho wipes away the tears. Suho knows well about her insecurities and he always feel obligated to kiss all the insecurities away.
"I am so sorry. I always think you are too perfect me and there's me. Just me a normal woman who own a laundry shop."
"Correction, sayang. A woman who graduated from TESL degree who decided to have a laundry shop instead of teaching. I have told you that you should teach and even if you don't want to teach at school, I could always build up a kindergarten or tuition centre for you," he chuckles while tightening his hands around her waist.
Every single day, Irene always feel grateful for having Suho. She always feel like he is the best for him though sometimes, she gets angry with her husband. It has been a little habit of him to make a huge mess everywhere in the house. His habit to put his dirty clothes where he takes it off, his habit to leave his dirty plates after eat at the table., his habit to leave his half-finished orange juice at the night stand when he feel asleep while reading his piles of journals for his research.
Though Irene doesn't mind, she sometimes nag at him.
"Could you for once take your own plates and put it in the sink and maybe wash it? Just your plates, Abang?"
"I will try my best, sayang."
And it will just end up as empty promises. He will left his plates there unattended, going back to his papers and ends up falling asleep at the sofa.
Irene hates mess but Suho loves mess. Suho, the man who dresses himself smartly and preppy but actually a mess. Suho loves mess too much that he embraced Irene back then 10 years ago and never look back again.
No one should know anything about them, their past because just like Suho always said, present and the future is more important.
And if anyone ever asks again why Irene loves his husband, Irene will answer,
"He loves mess so much."
+++++++
sayang : pet name like dear, honey
abang : pet name in Malay like oppa in Korean.
I tried my best to work on this series. This time I will just adopt surene as the characters. The background settings, religions and whatever happens in this story are going around Malaysian's setting.
