Chapter 6

SIMON

Who would have thought that Mr. Peligrino would ever find a girl he was interested in? It's been YEARS since I last saw him with a woman. The first and last girl he dated, Delilah Foster, was definitely what they would call a "HOE." She would rummage around other women's men, but then innocently come back to Alonzo and his money.

Little did she know, that I was watching her the whole time while he was dumbly following her devious plan. So I was the one to end it. I got one of his friends, Jamal, to expose her and her plan and she fell right to the fround pleading with Alonzo to take her back, but Alonzo kept a straight face, threw her to the ground and barked "HAVE NO INTENTIONS ON EVER CROSSING MY PATH AGAIN, or you and your gold-digging ass can count on never getting any kind of money. EVER ."

Me? I was content at the fact that she wasn't going to be in the house! She would expect me to answer to her every call, while I would just ignore her. She thought that she could take over his house in the blink of an eye but I wouldn't allow it.

But it's good to know that Alonzo has found a girl he likes, and Marjorie may not know it but I know she is fond of him too. She looks at him with such adoration and when he calls her, she rushes to hin so quickly I almost don't see her pass by. They are certainly an item but I just want to see how this plays out. I see that Marjorie has some things going on in her mind that no one can figure out...

MARJORIE

I am extremely afraid of fast cars... I can't explain it... I feel like I would lose my life driving in one. But nonetheless when Alonzo is driving, as he said, the speed took over me and pretty soon I was actually enjoying the ride.

While we were in the car, I noticed a tattoo on his left wrist. It said 'R.I.P Papa 6/14/11." That date was two days before my birthday which was next month. Then he noticed me staring.

"Ah my tattoo? It's in memory of my father. He died in a plane crash coming back from Venice two years ago." he said with an almost sorrowful look on his face... but then quickly sobered up and kept to the road.

"My mother died when I was about 17 but I was in a University in Italy and didn't hear about it until I was 19 and I was halfway through with my course-"

"Did you ever finish it?" he asked intrigued by my life story.

"No, I could never bring myself to go back and plus my family needed me and that's why I'm a maid now..."

"Oh.. Well what did you study in University and which one did you go to?.. I'm sorry if I'm intruding, but.. I'm just curious." He said as we pulled up to a Farmer's Market.

One of my favorite places to shop for food. Mostly because it's cheaper but also because people there were so friendly.

"Well I enrolled in Accademia Italiana, and I studied Photography... which I love and I did well in but- things happen and you really can't do anything about it."

"You should always follow what tour heart wants, not what your family wants." He says to me as we walk into the market.

I looked around in amazement at everything. This was certainly better than what I saw back at home.

"Well lets go." Alonzo says interrupting my thoughts.

He takes over the cart while I pick up things he points out. Then after about a half an hour of shopping and playing around we finally get something to eat.

We settled on pizza and fresh cut french fries.

As we were laughing and joking around, a horrifying woman comes up to us.

"ALONZO?! I see you're still as fine as when I left you." she says.
