You sit on your bathroom floor crying, wondering if anyone will ever love you again. You don't know what happened. You don't know what went wrong. You don't know what made him change his mind. He always told you he loved you. He always comforted you when things went bad. He was always there for you. All of that was a lie. He never loved you. You will never know why he decided to cheat on you. Whatever the reason was, it was breaking you inside.
You say to yourself, "You should've known. All those nights he never texted back or answered his phone. How could you be so stupid in believing he loved you?!" You continue to sob. You remember the feeling of your heart shattering into pieces when you found out.
*2 weeks ago*
Today was the day your boyfriend, Hunter was coming home from a 7 month tour. During those 7 months, you maybe only got to see him on one night for an hour or so before the show. You missed him. You wanted him home. You wanted to finally be back in his arms again.
You decided you were going to go surprise him at the airport and pick him up. His plane would be landing at about 3:30, so you only had an hour and a half to get ready and head to the airport. Once you were ready, you got in your car and headed toward the airport. You got there just in time. Hunter's plane had just landed so you went over to wait for him.
When you saw him walking with his bags, you were just about to run over to him and jump on him until you saw him walk toward another girl, wrap his arms around her, and kiss her. Your heart broke. You couldn't believe what you were seeing.
You ran off as fast as you could to your car and drove back home. You were so excited for him to come back home and spend time with you, but he had other plans with someone else.
Once you pulled into your driveway, you just stayed in the car for a little while and cried. You loved that boy. You loved him with all your heart and now your heart is broken. You thought he loved you. He always showed it. He did start acting weird toward the end of the tour, but you thought nothing of it. You thought maybe he was just exhausted because it had been such a long tour. You never thought it was because he found someone else to replace you.
You ran inside of the house, up to your bedroom, and flopped onto the bed and just cried yourself to sleep.
A few hours later, you wake up and decide to go down to the kitchen and get a glass of water. As you are getting water, you hear someone unlock the door and come in. You look over to the door to see who it is.
It's Hunter.
You just turn back around to the water and try your best to blink away the tears and swallow the lump in your throat.
He walks over to you and tries to give you a kiss, but you push him away. He gives you a puzzled look. All of the sudden, you start bawling. You couldn't hold it in anymore.
He tried to hug you, but you once again pushed him off of you. Then he opens his mouth and says, "What's wrong, babe?"
"Don't call me "babe!" You snap back.
"What is your problem? Why are you so angry at me?! What did I do?!"
"Why am I so angry?! Hunter, really?! You know why! I thought you loved me! I gave you my heart, my time, my energy, and my love, and THIS is what you give me in return?!"
"What are you talking about?!" Hunter shouts.
"I KNOW YOU'RE CHEATING ON ME!"
Hunter just stands there and stares at the ground. There is a moment of complete silence.
"I saw you at the airport with her. I came to pick you up and surprise you, and instead I see you walk over to this other girl, hug her, and then kiss her. "
"(Y/N), please I'm sorry! I know what I did was wrong and-"
"HUNTER! Then why did you do it in the first place?! Look, I've learned never to trust someone who would hurt me like you did. No matter what you do or say, I will NEVER forgive you! Hunter, you broke my heart. I actually did love you, and I thought you loved me," You say through your tears. "but I guess I was wrong."
"Look, (Y/N)-"
"Just! LEAVE, Hunter! Now!"
Hunter let's out a big sigh and walks out the door. You lock the door and just slide down to the ground. You sit there and cry for half an hour. You couldn't believe it. He was such a jerk. It made you sick thinking about the fact that you loved him.
*back to present time*
You call your best friend and tell her you wanna go out tonight. She calls up a few more friends and everyone goes out. You are finally ready to let go of the jerk you thought you once loved and start over.
