Rosanne, a young 13 year old female with hazelnut brown hair, gazed up at the large, eerie, stone gray house she and her family had moved to. Her large chocolate brown eyes stared unblinkingly as her brother, Ross, walked over and stood next to her. He too stared unblinkingly at their new house. Their parents walked past them, towards the oak door at the front of the house, making the two children look at them, heads tilted slightly. Their mother- Kendra, a smiley, plump ravenette woman - glanced over at them and motioned for them to come over. Reluctantly, the siblings waddled over to their mother. Rosanne was very nervous about the house, but Ross seemed intrigued at it, wondering about it's history. Opening the door, their father Scott walked in, a musty smell wafting out of the door. Rosanne cringed and followed the rest of her family.

The entrance of the house was large and a white color that seemed very faded. Ross stared at a painting of what looked to be a person, yet it was faded so it was hard to tell. Rosanne followed her brother's gaze and tilted her head upon seeing the odd painting. Ross stepped closer, squinting his eyes slightly. Their parents continued to walk further into the house, bringing their main luggage. Rosanne and her brother started to explore the house curiously. The two siblings wondered up the old, creaking stairs, gazing around as they ascended to the upper floor of the house. Rosanne and Ross looked at each other.

"First to the biggest room gets it!" They shouted simultaneously before splitting off to search for the largest bedroom. Each and every single room looked extremely old and worn, the floral print wallpaper peeling from the wall beneath it. Rosanne poked her head into each room, her face lighting up as she found one of the two master bedrooms in the house. She cheered in celebration. Her brother came running.

"You found it?" He quizzed her. She turned to look at the scruffy haired boy and nodded, a wide smile plastered on her face. He pouted. "Aaaww..." Rosanne giggled and walked in, shrugging her backpack off of her shoulders. Ross slumped off, still fake pouting, making Rosanne giggle again. She followed him and pointed.

"This room is only just smaller, why not here?" She suggested. Ross brightened up at the idea.
"Sounds good, sis!" He agreed, strutting in.
After Ross dropped his backpack onto the floor, he and Rosanne went back downstairs to help bring their stuff into the house from their car.

A while later, boxes were scattered around the large, empty house, the family worn out from going back and forth. Scott stretched and stood up from his place on the floor.
"I'm going to order takeout. What do we all want?" He asked. Rosanne and Ross smiled at each other.
"Pizza!" They declared excitedly. The two adults chuckled at this and Scott walked off to order the food. Kendra told the kids to go upstairs and start to unpack their stuff. Happily, they both obeyed and walked upstairs, a spring in their step as they chatted on their way to their rooms.
Once they arrived to their rooms, they immediately started to put their stuff away, placing each item in a specific place. Rosanne hummed as she sorted out her room, soon finishing before checking on Ross, who was nowhere near finished. She giggled and went to help him.

Not ten minutes later did they finish and their food was here.
"Food's here, kids!" Their father's voice shouted up the stairs. They smiled and raced down the stairs happily. Every feeling that told Rosanne that something was wrong with the house had disappeared hours ago. Her smile widened, thinking about how happy they could be there. The 13 year old female giggled slightly as she jumped down the final five stairs, landing before doing a somersault and standing up and walking swiftly into the kitchen. Behind her, Ross stared, mouth agape at what his sister just did. He blinked and followed her to the kitchen.
They all ate and soon went back to their rooms. As soon as they entered their rooms the two children heard the screams of their mother. Scared and worried, they ran back to their parents, only to find Kendra dead on the floor, Scott leaning over her, sobbing. Rosanne and Ross gasp, their hands flying to their mouths. Their mother lay there, blood spreading out in a puddle below her, her chest and stomach split open.
"I w-walked o-out for a m-minute...." Scott spoke between sobs. Rosanne fell to her knees, joining her father in crying. Ross shook his head, tears streaming down his face as he slowly backed out of the room. He took off running to his room without a second glance. Rosanne and Scott did nothing to stop him, crying too hard to notice.

The young male ran into his room and slunk down in the middle of it, hands over his face as he cried. A sudden anger washed over him. He moved his hands away from his face, his eyes filled with rage.
"I will find who did this to my mom and I will kill them." Ross growled.

//Heyo! Here's a thing that I'm doing in school for my Silver Arts Award! I chose to do story writing, DBWdrac is doing animation and, like, everyone else in my class is doing drawing. It's going well, I think! Gimme feedback if you can, it would be much appreciated!
