Chapter 1:The Move

Beep!

Beep!

Beep!

I groan as I turn off my unnecessarily loud alarm clock.Today is the last day of school and I dread it.I'm going have to say goodbye to Angie,my best friend but the good thing is that I won't have to go to that wretched place I call school.The reason me and my mom are moving is that my mom got a promotion at her job and it's in Florida and we live in Washington D.C  so me and my mom are  going to travel there by plane.

I get out of my bed and set out the clothes that I'm going wear.After I finish taking my shower,I put on the clothes that I set on my bed.I'm not the kind of person that wears makeup everyday because what is the point of wearing it if you have to take it off everyday.The clothes I picked was a loose black knit sweater that hangs off my shoulder,denim skinny jeans and black high top converse.Angie says that I have no fashion sense but I don't really care.

My mom has already gone to work so I just grab a granola bar and leave the house to go to school.Once I arrive to school I immediately see my best friend Angie."Hi Angie!"I call out loud.When she heard my voice she looked at me and started walking towards me."Hey Naomi,I am going to miss you so much,so instead of moping around today after school we are going to your house and have a Harry Potter movie marathon and I am going to bring two tubs of ice-cream one for the each of us.It's going to be so fun!"She said enthusiastically.I'm surprised at how fast Angie,it seems like she is really excited and she is never this excited.

When we enter the school I go to my locker to empty it out.It only takes about 5 minutes since I don't have that much stuff.My first class is math but I don't have with Angie instead I have with the school's queen bee:Melissa Parker and the worst thing about it is that she hates me! for no reason whatsoever.She is always putting so much make up on her face that it looks like her neck could snap any second.She wears clothes that barely cover- her body and I don't even know how it's allowed in school.

Anyways the bell rings indicating that it is time for class.As I walk down the hall I spot Melissa and then I try to hide.Luckily she does not see me for her eyes are very small.I get out of my hiding spot which is the girls bathroom and go inside the math class and take my seat which is in the front of the classroom.Since today is my last day of going to school the teachers let me go on my phone for the whole class.It was pretty much the same thing throughout the day and lunch was pretty boring,it was the usual gossip at Melissa's table,it's like she has nothing better to talk about other people and all she says are mean things.I walked out of my last class which was french and decided to get a ride home from Angie.Me and Angie get inside the car and went home and it was silent the whole way but a good type of silence.

Once we pulled up to my house which is 3 stories high so I take out my keys and unlocked the door and when I went in it seemed like my mom already packed for me because I see my mom standing in the living room with 4 suitcases that looked like they could burst any second."Naomi we are going to have to leave to go to the airport right now because the plane going to Florida is going earlier than I expected"said Mom.It took me a while to comprehend what my mom just said.I just can't believe that we are leaving now and what shocked me even more is that this is going to be very my last time seeing Angie.I know I am being dramatic since we could face time each other but being with Angie in person is much better than not.

"Well,stop standing there take your suitcases because we have to go to the airport right now!"my Mom yelled"I'm sorry Angie but we have to go now,when she gets off the plane you could face time each other"

I looked at Angie and she had a look of disappointment on her face.I can understand how she feels."I'm sorry Angie but when I get off the plane we could face time"I say."Well that's okay but I'll really miss you"she says with her voice cracking.Now I feel really bad but I have to do this for my mom."Bye Angie"I say."Bye Naomi"Angie says.I watch as Angie gets in her car and drives away with tears running down her face.Me and my mom put our suitcases inside the car trunk and got inside the car.My mom starts driving and I watch as the view of my house gets smaller until I can't see it anymore.At least I can start a new life but I can't forget the one I left behind.
