Chapter 8

Week 7: The Flippin' Family

Today Annie's best friend Katie's family is coming over and that means Ryan is coming too!

Hayley is super excited to see Ryan and she thinks she wants to tell him her secret!

Hayley was just sitting in her room when someone knocked on the door.

"Hello?" Someone says.

"Who is it?" Hayley asks.

"It's Ryan." He says.

Hayley has butterflies flying to one side of her stomach and bouncing to the other.

"Come in!" Hayley says.

Hayley was sitting at her desk and turned around in her spinny chair to face Ryan who was standing right in front of her.

"Why is Caleb here?" Ryan asks.

"W-What?" Hayley asks worried.

"Why is Caleb, your brother here, on earth?" Ryan asks a little aggressive but, not enough to scare Hayley.

"You remember?" Hayley asks looking down.

"Hayley what happened?" Ryan asks her.

"Remember when I saw you at the junkyard?" Hayley asks.

"Um yeah...?" Ryan says.

"I was getting pieces for a time travel machine and somehow it worked. I didn't know anyone would know or realize. Annie knows too and I don't know how you did too and I'm just as confused as you ar-"

"Hay, it'll be ok!" Ryan says hugging her while she cries.

"Ryan, I don't know what to do... he's been so mean..." Hayley tells him.

"Hayley, you could be famous!!" Ryan says shaking her shoulders with a giant smile on his face.

"But, I already am." Hayley says laughing a little.

"Well you can be more famous! You don't have to be Annie's little sister anymore!!" Ryan says.

Hayley looks at him, tilts her head and smiles.

"You're right!" Hayley says, "I don't have to be Annie's little sister anymore."
