Frozen

Everyday she sits and watches as the world passes her by

Her eyes are frozen, captured in slow motion

Yet the world around her is speeding

Faster then what seems possible

Sleepless nights and tearless cry's

She cant quite grasp hold of what it is

She's trying so very hard to get out of this Hypnosis feeling

Her brain is racing yet her heart is paced

She can't physically get her emotions out

There hiding under the surface boiling up

Even so her face stays frozen like ice

Despite the fire that's hiding beneath.

After years of fighting she's finally given up

She's been driven so far off track

That there's no possible way of getting back

Her mental capacity just isn't strong enough

So now she sits, surviving.. just about

She stopped running her life, she simply couldn't

She was a lost girl, so decided to let life run her instead.

She was led down the path that seemed right at the time

Every penny she had she spent, but not on food, nor on rent

She spent it on alcohol, every kind.

Every night she collapsed to her sleep,

On the kitchen floor yes, but to her was still sleep

But after a while she grew bored of the alcohol..

She wanted more, wanted a new buzz, a new "happiness"

For the first time since she was a child she felt complete

Like nothing else mattered..

When she ran out of money it was okay,

She had a back up,

Her now frail and fragile body stood on her corner

she simply sold her body,

She remembers how warm it always was in the strange men's cars

Warmer then what she was used to..

The cold nights breeze, the rain that sogged her cardboard shelter

It made it all worth it in her eyes, the warmth, the money.. The drug's

So, here she is today.

The girl who once used to fight with her sisters,

Help her mother with the dishes,

This women that was ones a child.

Here she is today, surrounded by paramedics

Almost unrecognisable she's laid out on the stretcher..

Overdose they said..

At her funeral, few showed.

Maybe the odd passer-by that had ones given her money,

But there were no friends, no family..

She had lost connection with them all, was blinded by her few needs.

6 foot underground she lies.. As life passes her by

Frozen she is, but not in slow motion..

This girl who got swallowed up by life

Frozen for eternity.
