The sun shone gracefully on the beach. Miami in the summer, means beach time to all kids at Miami Beach High School. Brett sat in the Jemison Mansion in his room. He and his father had lived there for their entire lives. He watched everyone enjoy summer as he was living a secret.
"Katelyn, um...Katel- excuse, hey Katelyn, Hi, so..um...Katelyn." that's all Brett could hear on the first day of school. He was dressed in black from head to toe. No one ever noticed him, and he was even a senior. So was Katelyn. She was the most popular person in school, she was the cheer captain. She also took all honors classes with Brett, but had never noticed him. No one ever did. All he ever tried to do was to be normal. Except, he wasn't normal, he was different. He was quiet and never answered out loud. Brett Blake aced every class and every test. So did Katelyn. They were academic equals, but socially he was a monster from another dimension far away. Even there, he went unnoticed. That was how he liked it.
Today, he was called to the guidance counselor's office. "Mr Blake, I have asked you here to go over your social range."
