"Aaliyah-Morgan! Hurry up your gonna be late!" My mom yelled.
"Coming!" I finished my makeup, grabbed my bag and rushed downstairs. I got I'm the car and my mom started to drive.
"So big math test today huh" my mom said.
"Yea."
"And next week is the dance," I knew she was gonna say this. My mom always says that I should let myself have more fun, by going to parties and having dates and stuff.
"Mom" I said groaning. "You know I don't go to that kind of stuff"
"Well maybe you should start!"
"Mom first off I'm not going if I don't have a date, and no ones likes a shy, smart, and awkward girl who plays the flute. And second off I don't like parties."
"Well Aaliyah-Morgan, there's a first for everything. And second of all I don't understand how your my child. I was so different at your age." Then she pulled up to school.
"Yea. Thanks mom, love you!" I closed the door before she could reply and walked into school with my best friend Bay. "So, got a date for the dance?"
"Nah, I doubt Ben will ask me. You?"
"There's no way in hell I'm getting a date." She just rolled her eyes. "What?"
"Nothing." She said grinning. I guess there's no avoiding it now, yes I am hopelessly in love with Camren Bledsoe. He's the captain of the basketball team, star of the math club, and quarterback of the football team. So I highly doubt he would like me, a nerdy honors girl, with few friends, and no popularity. I do have classes with Camren but I'm too afraid to talk to him. I used to say hi to him, but I stopped because he would always be confused, and just smile politely back. "So do you think Cam will ask you?"
"Yea in another universe." I said. Some people call him Cam, but I'm to afraid too. I know, even more nerdy.

The bell rang and Bay and I walked to first period, she had a different class, so we split when she had too. I walk in and immediately start the day off with embarrassment. I ran right into Camren. Sending my books flying, and us both crashing to the ground. I fell on top of him straddled in an odd position. In the midst of that my glasses flew off and Camren managed to catch them. He snickered and handed them to me. And when I realized what I was doing I quickly got up and started to gather my books saying sorry a thousand times.
"Oh let me help you Leah." Omg he knows my name!
"Oh-h than-thanks." Hating myself for stuttering. He smiled and helped me up. Then left the room for a little.
I sat down at my desk and started organizing my stuff for class. My other best friend Nevah was just looking at me.
"What?"
"I can't believe that just happened." She said smirking.
"Oh shut up." I said laughing.

Camren POV

Oh. My. God. I can't believe I just sent Leah's books flying. I'm such an idiot! And just smiling at her and not saying sorry, why was I so shy! Ugh.
"Hey man!" My friend Jack said coming up next to me.
"Hey."
"Awe man don't be embarrassed. She so likes you tho"
"Jack come on." I just looked at him.
"What I can tell just by the way she handled that whole accident. She was blushing like crazy. You need to ask her to the dance." Maybe he was right.
"Maybe. But please don't tell her I like her." I saw Bay walk by us right after that. I hope she didn't hear that.
I walked back to class casually and sat across from Leah. She looked beautiful. She always does. Her eyes are my favorite tho. They are brown and green mixed, and then her glasses just make them so much more noticeable. I'm hopelessly in love with her. But I'm just a guy who can shoot some hoops, she's a pretty honors student, she'd never like a guy like me. I wish she still said hi to me...

Leah POV

When I sat down at lunch Bay could not contain herself. As soon as I made contact with the chair she blurted something.
"CAMREN LIKES YOU!" She said. I was shocked.
"Wh-what."
"Camren likes you! I walked past him and Jack in the hallway and I heard him whisper but don't tell Leah I like her."
"Omg Bay are you serious??"
"Yes!" Omg Bay never lies to me. What if actually does. Omg. Now I can't stop thinking about it. But before I could think anymore, I was interrupted by someone tapping my shoulder. It was Bay. "Camren's friends are so loud." She pointed over to the table where they were all saying stuff to Camren, and he was blushing. Whatever that was about. But then Camren got up, and started to walk towards me. My heart started to race. He walked right up to me.
"H-hey Leah." He said nervously.
"Hi"
"Um, do you wanna, um," he scratched the back of his neck. "Do you wanna go to the dance with me?" I was shocked. Was he serious? Was this all a dare? What do I say?
"Y-yes" I said. And the biggest grin spread across his face.
"Awesome, see you then." He said, then all his friends gave him a high five.

Bay and I were both lost for words. "Did that really just happen?" She asked. I nodded vigorously. I couldn't speak. I, Aaliyah-Morgan Kennish was going to the dance with Camren Bledsoe. I don't even want to imagine my moms reaction.

------

"Hey mom! I'm home!"
"Hi sweetie! How was your day? Anything exciting happen?" I debated telling her, but gave in at the last minute.
"Well sorta..." she gave me a look. "I'm gonna need a new dress.." she got the biggest smile ever.
"Awe!!! Honey! Who asked you?"
"Camren Bledsoe." You see, Cam and I used to hang out when we were little, so my mom knows who he is, and loves him.
"Omg honey that's great! Wanna go now?" So my mom and I went and got a teal dress with lace on the skirt, and white heels. (Cam was pretty tall.) So I guess you could say today was a great day. The last for a while...
