dear father,
my mother never speaks of you and I don't blame her.
I have never really seen your face but every time I look in the mirror I know I must look like you.
I don't look like my mother.
and I know my mother sees your face when she looks at me because she always looks away but not before I catch a glimpse of hurt.
or am I seeing things?
sincerely, James
