(Trace's point of view)

I've been searching for her for about eight hours now and I have no intention of stopping until I find her!

It's already late and getting prettty dark outside, but I will still keep looking. Once in awhile I find twigs that have been snapped and footprints on the ground so I know I'm in the right direction. If only I could find her already!

My legs were screaming at me to stop and take a rest and my arms were bleeding from being cut up by this woods.

Soon my legs collapsed underneath me, I fell to the ground exhausted. On top of all of this, I had no idea where I was, but that still didn't matter to me, I just knew I had to find Claudia.

I froze when I heard some movement not too far away. At this point if it were some type of animal, I had no chance of escaping because I couldn't run. I did reach out however after a few minutes of seeing nothing happen, and grabbed a branch.

Hoisting myself up I started to move towards the direction of the noise. There was something on the ground, I'm guessing it was some type of animal becuase I could see ears...

I moved closer and the moonlight showed that it was not some strange animal, but the girl who I was looking for all this time. I reached down and slightly pushed on her shoulder to wake her up. Sleeping out here was probably not a good idea.

I watched her eyes flutter open.

"Trace...?.... TRACE! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!? GET AWAY FROM ME!!"  She jumped to her feet and started to back away.

"No please Claudia just listen to me..."

"No! Why should I? And why are you even here?"

"I came looking for you after you left. Look Claudia, I'm really sorry. I--"

She started to walk away, so I reached out and lightly grabbed her wrist and pulled her to me. I leaned her against a tree and stood in her way so she couldn't just walk away again.

"Good, now listen. I'm so sorry, I knew I shouldn't have said what I did and I'm sorry. I was just shocked and despite what I said I know you are not a monster."

"Mutant" She corrected me.

"Yeah that, but you aren't one and I know that. I can't take back what I said to you, but if I did have that power than I would make sure I didn't ever say that.  I love you so much Claudia and I don't actually think you are some kind of mutant, monster thing. Please forgive me..."

(Claudia's Point of view)

I remained silent for a few moments, unsure of what to do. Maybe I should forgive him, I mean he did come all the way out here to come find me and he seems genuinely sorry for what he did.

He also told me that he loves me...

I felt myself blush a little.

"Fine, you're forgiven." I felt myself get pulled into a really tight hug.

"Thank you, I wouldn't know what to do if you weren't going to. I just can't live without you, you are my world." He said.

He pulled away and reached up to my ears.

"It's actually kind of cute."

"Thanks." I mumbled.

"Can we go home now?" I asked. He chuckled.

"Yeah."

With that we started to make our long walk home.

"Hey, you seem to be pretty good at handling this, how come?" I asked when things started to get silent.

"I knew about Jace, I saw his ears when we were younger and it took a long time for me to get used to the thought, but I eventually did." He looked over and smiled at me.

"Oh ok." I said, wow Jace would love to hear this...

We were walking in silence for awhile, but it wasn't even close to being awkward. If anything, it was kinda romantic, especially the way he was holding my hand and walking at my side.

"Hey Trace?" I broke the silence after awhile.

"Yeah?"

"I love you."
