~Distortion~
When I woke up I was in the living room laying on the comfortable blue couch placed inside our living. I groaned and tried to sit up, but I immediately fell back onto the couch as I felt my head start to throb and my stomach churn. It hurt like hell to move.

The first person that came to my aid was Chris with a bowl. His eyes were puffy and red. Signaling that he must've been so worried about me that he had a panic attack and started to cry. "Thank the lord you're alright." He walked swiftly towards me while also trying not to spill the contents of the bowl.
"You've been passed out for 10 hours now. I was so worried when Aster told me you were collapsed in the middle of nowhere," he put the bowl in front of me on the hard wood coffee table. I would've gotten up but the possibility of throwing up threatened me,"I made you some ramen, I know it's your favorite little lunch. I don't know if it'll help but I want to do everything I can to make you feel better."
I wanted to open my mouth and say something, anything. But the words never came into my head or out of my mouth. I simply put my hand on his head and ruffled his hair. He grabbed my hand and a wide smile spread across his face. He jumped on top of me and got comfortable as he sprawled out on top of me. I didn't say a word. I just closed my eyes, wrapped my arms around him and fell asleep.

"August? Are you alright?"

"... Kendall? Agh... my head hurts like a bitch. What happened? I remember seeing those people and then the rest is... blank."

"I called Astèri after you passed out. You had passed out and your body wasn't reacting to anything I did to try and wake you up."

"Side-effect..."

"It is highly possible. But with the way those people were, it was abnormal and strange. It made my system shut down. Your Brain though was highly damaged in ways that I can't explain."

"It had to be a side-effect. The people I saw had to have been a result of you being implanted into my brain. The people were, as dumb and unrealistic as it sounds, glitched, like how a computer glitches sometimes. There's an explanation to this, and that has to be it."

"I am considering that this could be a possibility. That would explain the brain injury and why I shut down. But it's still implausible. I'll look into it later.

"Ok, but I have a couple runs to make out in the city."

"Ok, but let's be more careful. You did just pass out."

"Ive realized that, and I'll be careful."

After our hour-long nap, Chris got up and went to the institute for his classes. I got up slowly from the couch and headed upstairs to take a much needed shower. Me and Kendall would have to figure out this whole glitch thing, and soon.

Walking into the tub after shedding all of my clothes and turning the water on. I felt the soothing water trail down my back and felt it massage my back with its warm fingers. I cleansed myself in soap and water letting out a sigh as I contently started to wash my hair. Running my fingers through my normally put up long locks of hair.
I steeped out of the shower after I had finished cleaning myself and looked at myself in the blurry mirror. My hair that reached my shoulder blades and was all over my tanned skinned. I've always been quite hairy everywhere, legs, arms, chest. You name it and I probably have hair there, especially my face. I have a full grown beard and a mustache connected to it. I shave every once in a while to keep the furry mane in its place, but I grows back before I can even say beard.
I then proceed to look at my tall muscular frame. I'm 6- feet and 3- inches tall. Which makes a lot of sense, for my father was 6- feet and 2- inches tall, and I almost didn't fit into the mirror. I don't know about my mother, but I've heard she's always been quite short.

Sighing I left the bathroom and grabbed some clothes to wear for when I headed out. Black boots, white tank-top with the words, "Irrelevant Thoughts", on the back in gold and black jeans that I had proudly torn on my own. Throwing the outfit on as I went, I headed out towards my black and white jeep.
"You ready, Jess," that's what I named her, Jessie, "we're heading to the city for a couple hours. Hopefully we'll also be able to figure out this weird glitch thing."
I pressed the button that started Jess up and hummed along with the engine as I backed up out of the concrete driveway.
The city. The "City of Light" in California, Usarin. A city built by the Tengus family in 2017, finished 2018. The technology the family used is so complex and amazing that it was able to create a whole city in a year and a half. It was just officially deemed a city two months ago and the population of the city is already booming. I would've lived in Usarin if I didn't already live with Astèri and Chris.
I saw the glare of the cities lights and was quickly reminded of how gorgeous the city looked right before nightfall. The many colored lights of the city, the skyscrapers that act as towers over the huge city. The roads filled with cars that held the busy everyday people of Usarin. The city is known for its huge and diverse population, but with diversity comes many social issues. The city had a small political civil war that caused a slight rift in the diversity of the bright city. So of course after the civil war the city had an underground network start to grow as a result– it grew painfully slow.
"I can't believe I'm going back; it's been a while." Sighing I saw the sign:
