"Where were you during the attack?"
"Working on paperwork in the break room."
"Is there anyone to validate that?"
"I'm sorry to say but there were no other people with me."
"So how can we trust your input?"
"I guess you can't."
"Now, you've been convicted before, correct Mr. Afton?"
"Yes. Multiple times."
"What for?"
"I don't think I'm permitted to say."
"You're in a court of law, sir; we need to know."
"Six accounts of rape and four accounts of attempted murder."
"Now, have you actually killed someone?"
"Yes."
"So how can we believe your testimony here today?"
"Because I had plead guilty for all of those cases."
"Though, I do recall you had a peculiar interest in the victim?"
"There was no interest, we were only colleagues."
"How can we be sure?"
"I...I refuse to answer."
"Are you hiding something, Mr. Afton?"
"The interest was not returned."
"Could that of caused an angry outburst?"
"Why are you asking?"
"Sir, I'm the one who is to be asking questions."
"This isn't necessary. We were only acquaintances. Nothing more. I refuse to state anything else."
"Okay, sir."
"Now, we call our next witness Jer-"~~~
"I hereby call to the stand, Jeremy Fitzgerald."
"Mr. Fitzgerald, where were you in the night of question?"
"I was at the hospital with Marcia."
"Is there anyone who can validate that you were in fact at the hospital other than Mrs. Marcia?"
"Yes. The nurses and therapist."
"Can you give us their name?"
"Dr. Clarke and Dr. Inman."
"Okay. Thank you, Mr. Fitzgerald."
"Can you give us your input on a Mr. William Afton, Jeremy?"
"Ah, yes. He was an overall okay man. I never thought he was actually capable of murder in my opinion. He seemed nice."
"Thank you, sir. You may return to your seat."~~~
"Hello Marcia, I just have a few questions for you."
"I'm listening."
"What is your relationship to William?"
"Adoptive mother."
"When did you adopt him?"
"When he was sixteen. About 9 years ago."
"How old were you then?"
"Twenty five."
"How was his behavior then?"
"Oh, he was charming. Perfect child. All A's and B's, not too many friends, but he was a bright one."
"What is the possibility of him being the attacker?"
"Very low. He seemed to of taken a fancy towards her."
"Though, he had admitted to other murders?"
"Well, yes. But he would've killed her if he actually wanted to. Those wounds were precise; the attacker didn't want her dead. William is a person who always wants to finish what he started."
"Okay. Thank you ma'am."~~~
"Mike, being observed by the health department could not attend today."
~~~
"Ms. Donner, how are you feeling?"
"Fine, thank you."
"What all do you remember from the night in question?"
"Absolutely nothing, sir."
"How can we trust that you are telling the truth?"
"I... guess you can't."
"Could you be, perhaps protecting the attacker?"
"How could I protect them if I don't know who they are?"
"A hunch perhaps?"
"Law isn't built on assumptions; being a lawyer, you should know."
"O-of course. Anywho, please describe your day leading up to that point."
"I was cleaning up throw up from one of the kids when I uh... don't really know. I just remember William getting beaten up by something and passing out then that's really it. I cannot recall that much after that."
"Okay, Ms. Donner, we will have to trust you on that. It's good to see you are healing well; you may return."
"Thank you."
