Wishes

You gazed
across the sky
and hope to die.

Your wishes
never came true
because you
were never you.

You wished
to be beautiful.
But beauty was in you.

You never realize...
that you were
told a million lies.

Oh how much you've cried
for those beautiful lies
that filled your heart
with your tearful cries

and the pain
that you wish would go away

with the fear
of being beautiful
because you are beautiful.
