People misunderstand Gryffindors to be completely fearless and have courage to no end. But that isn't true. I've come to learn during my time in this house that Gryffindors fear what comes next, and have anxiety just like everyone else. But what makes us brave, what really brought us to be in Gryffindor, is telling ourselves over and over again that we're brave and we'll overcome.I sat and stared into the fire, wondering what lays ahead in my future. The book in my hand read about a boy trying to find himself and he worries about going into the other world, the evil. I've never feared evil, my parents fought so hard against it so I wouldn't have experience it. They wouldn't want me to fear it, they'd tell me to overcome, and that's exactly what I do.
My fingers gripped over the crisp paper to the next page, my eyes engaging into the words but my thoughts traveled elsewhere. The thought of Yoongi made me remember that I had to check on our plant in the greenhouse. I had exactly 15 minutes before curfew, so I rushed out of the Gryffindor commons room grabbing my scarf and wand before putting on my boots.
The hallway was filled with second years, their voices above a whisper as they retreated to their rooms. My pace quickened to the greenhouse as the clock ticked. Luckily, it wasn't too far of a walk away, I arrived with 5 minutes to spare. I looked over to our plant, the fanged geranium.
I crossed my fingers that it wouldn't bite me because of the delay of water. I carefully got the can of water and poured it over the plant. A smile of victory spread across my face, but soon became hurt once the plant bit me on my hand. "Ow!" I held my injured palm into my other hand, holding it closely to my chest.
"Forgot to water it?" I heard Yoongi's soft voice come up next to me. "Y-yea..." I nodded and he shook his head in return as he held in a chuckle. "Those bites hurt, here let me see." He took my hand without my consent and observed the bite. "Episkey." His wand waved over my wound, soon clearing once he said the healing spell. Yoongi ran his cold thumb over my healed palm, his sleeve going down his arm a little as he did so.
My eyes came across a tattoo of some sort. I quickly realized what it was before he pushed down his sleeve. I gulped nervously but hid my confusion and fear. "I think it's past curfew..." I got out, wrapping my scarf more around my neck. His brown eyes narrowed at the cloth. "You really are a Gryffindor..."
My eyebrow lifted, "And you're really a Slytherin?" I said sarcastically, suddenly feeling and urge of confidence around him. Yoongi's lips turned upward into a smirk before a small smile. "Here, let me formally introduce myself, I'm Min Yoongi and yes, I really am a Slytherin."
He held out his pale hand and the thoughts of his tattoo went away as I shook his hand. "I'm Nara Lupin, and I'm surprisingly a Gryffindor."
"Surprisingly?" His head tilted, giving an amused look as we conversed. "Well I thought I'd be Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff but looks like I got my dad's genes." I smiled softly as I remembered my dad. Sure he was a werewolf, but he couldn't control it. And yet my amazing mother saw the man behind the beast.
"And I sadly did too." I heard Yoongi mumble but I shrugged it off, looking at my watch on my wrist. "Crap, it's 20 minutes over curfew." I grabbed my wand and looked at the Slytherin who wasn't worried. "Aren't you worried we're going to get caught?"
He shook his head and chuckled, "I could honestly care less." I shrugged, "Suit yourself, but I'm going back to my dorm." I started walking out of the greenhouse before Yoongi caught up with me. "Can't let you walk alone idiot."
"What's the worst that can happen? A troll in the dungeon?" Joking, I casted a light spell to see our way through the dark castle hallway. "You never know alright." He mumbled back, guiding me to the Gryffindor common room up the stairs.
Our footsteps were quite as we rushed up the stairs, my face soon approaching the lady in the painting. "Thanks for dropping me off...and fixing my wound..." I said, giving my lifelong crush a smile. He gave a quick shrug before patting my head, "No problem Nara, night." I saw the tattoo again, my eyes hurriedly shifting to the painting as he walked away.
"Night..." I mumbled back before I woke up the lady and told her the password and got into the room. My feet rushed up the girl's staircase and went to my bed. I reached out my hand for a book that was hidden under my bed, it was a history book on the battle of Hogwarts.
I flipped a couple of pages before finding the same mark that Yoongi had on his arm. "The Mark of the Death Eater, a sign of being trusted to Voldemort." My eyes re-read the words over and over, not wanting to believe it. I wanted the book to say it didn't mean anything, but I knew that wasn't true. Yoongi had a death eater symbol on his arm. A sign of evil.
Of course everyone knew Yoongi's parents were in Azkaban for being death eaters, and rumors spread about him being one. But rumors also spread about Scorpius being Voldemort's son, and that isn't true at all. I just want to believe that not all of the rumors about Slytherin were true, and I really hope this one isn't.
He can't be a death eater....
