It was a new day in California, and a special day for Jane Abernathy, soon to be Jane Carter, she was marrying a rich successful Doctor Michael Carter, and the wedding would only be the best but let's get to it shall we?

I don't know Christine, do you think I'm making the wrong choice? Said Jane Is that really a question you should be asking on your wedding day? Said Christine a little worried for her friend, you know him better than anyone she said to Jane reassuringly, but what if he's not who I think he is? What if he changes after we get married? He won't! And you would have seen his dark side by now you dated him for 10 years! She exclaimed as she tightened her dress now you get out there and get married she said pushing Jane out the door a bit it's about time she whispered to herself, the music started as she took a few cautious steps toward the altar of the beautiful Catholic Church, it was a gorgeous venue with stained glass windows and statues all around her fiancé was very religious but she wasn't sure what she believed yet as she took her next step she recalled her first date with Michael it was at a cafe at the corner of Boston and Main she remembered how well the crepes were done and how overwhelming the smell of coffee was she remembered that day on purpose because as soon as she looked into his eyes she knew that he was perfect, as she took her next step she remembered their first fight, she remembered how his voice sounded when he was angry and how the look in his eyes changed as she took her next step his angry words went through her head as well as thoughts of running back down the isle then she looked around her and stopped the look on her face changed from happy to worried then she looked around her again and she saw her family and her friends she knew if she turned back now she would never hear the end of it she knew if she turned back now that she would never get Michael back she knew her Mother would say "You let the perfect man slip through your fingers again! Now that was a wasted 10 years of your life you'll never get back!" Her mother really was a sweet woman but sweet always seemed to come out in a harsh tone all of this flashed through her head in an instant and she kept walking and her last though was how happy they would be together and how their children would be raised and when she finally reached the altar Michael took her hand and said you don't have to marry me I saw how you looked when you walked up here he whispered I will love you no matter what choice you make so if you tell me your not ready we will leave this church right now Jane looked in his eyes and said I wouldn't trade this day for anything in the world and I love you and I am ready he looked at the priest and he started to read from the Bible as Jane stood there and listened to the Priest she looked at his short blonde hair and she thought about all the things she loved about him to calm herself down when it came time to say their vows she was amazed how well he pulled his words together but Jane was all over the place with her words the truth is she hated being in front of all of those people she felt like their quiet eyes where judging her every move the wedding was finally over Michael picked her up and carried her out of the church she felt so relieved to be in his arms and not in the cold silent air of that church as they arrived at the reception she sat down at the table and the dish was salmon she herself loved salmon but she knew Michael hated salmon and she tried to get him to get the caterers to make something else but he knew it was Janes favorite so he just told her it's not my favorite but I can eat anything, and it was true one time Michael took her to the state fair and he registered in a pie eating contest and he at 6 whole pies and didn't break a sweat! Him being a doctor he knew he shouldn't eat all that at once but what did he care it was fun! Jane watched as Michael pushed his food around his plate and she whispered in  his ear we'll eat on the ship later he nodded his head and gave a half-hearted grin and he pushed his plate away, and got up from his seat would you like to dance? He said softly and taking her hand I'd love to Jane said as they walked to the dance floor soft classical music started playing Michael really wasn't a it's our song kind of guy he was more of a yay Bach! She laid her head on his shoulder it was so comfortable, the breeze blowing through the church lawn, the soft orchestra and the thought of being away from all these judging people soon. I know this is supposed to be the best day of my life Jane said to herself but I'm so glad that it's almost over. She glanced over at the table where her family was sitting she looked over at her mom she say her holding her hand up and giving her a thumbs up, as if she had options of who she was going to marry, while her father gave a disapproving frown, he never liked Micheal, but then again her father was a detective and he thought there was an angle to everything, he thought everything and everyone was terrible inside, even his own daughters, and Jane looked over to another table and saw her sister with her boyfriend, the only person in the world her dad didn't hate, John Valutia the only reason he didn't hate him is because he was his partner, and one time he saved his life, my sister always had this half pleased look on her face when she was with him, and the only reason she was with him is because dad didn't hate him. Ever since Jane got engaged to Michael her sister always gave her a dirty look because Emily dated Michael before Jane married him but it just didn't work out all the sudden Janes thought bubble burst when the music ended because she knew it was time for them to leave for their cruise she burst out of the church yard and jumped into their car about 5 minutes later Michael walked up to the car where did you go? He said I just couldn't take another minute of all those people looking at me. Don't worry, he said I know you get a little anxious around people. Not just "people" my whole family! I can't take their judgmental faces anymore! She said as she sunk a little lower in the passengers seat and tears started to fill her eyes. Homey you don't need to cry, I wasn't trying to pick a fight  here, I just wanted to solve your problem but I guess I can't help. No honey, you can't but can we, can we just go? Sure honey, no offense but I was kinda itching to get away from your folks too.
Yeah, they do have that effect on people she said as Michael opened the car door and got inside but when he reached for his keys they were nowhere to be found. Darn, forgot my keys! He said searching himself, I must have dropped them somewhere I have to go look I'm so sorry. No problem honey I understand she watched him disappear when all the sudden her sister was knocking on the car window Jane opened the door and threw half of her dress out so she wasn't so crammed what do you want Emily I went to the car to get away from the staring. Well I just wanted to say confreakingratulations! You know I liked him! And you married him anyway, thanks for being a great sister it use had to be said! She said as she started stomping back to the reception Jane jumped out of the car and grabbed her by the arm my happiness counts too you know! She said as she released her sisters arm. Yes I knew you liked him but you had also just broken up with him so I thought we were good, and plus your with John now! You actually think I could ever love that heartless jerk? Well it looks that way! Jane said angrily no I only like him because he's dads partner so if I marry him then maybe dad will love me! She said as she opened up he palm of Janes hand and slammed a pair of car keys in her hands thanks for the chat she said as she ran back to the reception. Jane walked slowly back to the car and shoved her big white poofy dress back into the car and slammed the door she sat there wondering how her innocent little sister could have ever grown up to be that verbally violent blonde haired flurry. She got out of the car and walked around the church yard until she found her husband. Hey honey,  I um,I found your car keys. Oh yeah, great! Now we can get going. He said as they both made their way back to the car. As Jane opened the car door a small key with a note attached to it fell out when she picked it up she tripped over the bottom of her dress and into the car thus skinning her knee and falling backwards onto the dirt road what happened! It's okay I'm fine, well, well I'm really not fine these stains are never coming out of this stupid dress just, just answer me this, she paused with an irritated look on her face WHY DO WEDDING DRESSES HAVE TO BE WHITE! She yelled and gave a loud deep grunt as Michael helped her up he said not everything is going to be perfect our whole lives, but we have to take the good with the bad, it's just the part of life we have to deal with and trust me your wedding dress being the single colorless color on the color wheel is not by far the worst problem we are going to face together but as long as your with me I know that I can handle any challenge. He said as he helped her into the car and pushed the puffy dirt and blood stained dress into the car, wait! Jane exclaimed suddenly as she picked the key up off the ground. I dropped this she said as she opened the note and Micheal got into the car she started reading
