brooklyns pov
The next day, I woke up to the sunlight coming through the blinds, at around 7 am.

I pulled my blanket over my face to block some light. Caleb, though, had gotten up and taken the blanket from me.

"Breakfast?" He half whispered.

"Yeah." I replied, getting up. He threw me an extra sweatshirt he had, and I put it on. I already had shorts and a tshirt on, but it was getting cold out. I put on some flip flops, and followed Caleb out the door. I checked my phone once we had gotten out the door. My mom had texted me, at six. It was a huge paragraph.

"Oh my God." I said, after reading it.

"What's wrong?" Caleb said.

My face turned red, my eyes widened, and I felt a lump in my throat. I stayed silent.

"Brooklyn? What does the text say, what's wrong?"

"I'm moving. To Los Angeles. In five days." I said, looking at him, worry spread across my face.

"Oh." He said. "Why?" He said, pulling into the parking lot and resting his forehead on the steering wheel.

"My mom got a job offer."

"And this is permanent?" He said, looking up at me.

"I think so." I said, tossing my head back.

"Damn it."

"I don't wanna move. I don't wanna leave. I wanna stay with you." I said, taking his hand in mine.

"Five days, huh?"

"How am I gonna pack in just five days?" I said, my eyes about to fill with tears.

"I'll help. I'm always here to help."

"Thanks." I said.

"Wanna eat?" He said.

"Yeah."

We got out of the car, and reconnected our hands.

"We'll make it work, I promise you." Caleb said, before we sat at a booth and ordered our food.

"Yeah." I said.

"What about school?" He asked me.

"I don't wanna go to public school again. I'll do an online school program." I said, taking my sweet tea from the waitress.

We ate, and talked about random stuff for awhile until we went back to the house. My mom hugged me and apologized for the sudden change. I went upstairs to my room, Caleb following. I looked around, before slowly taking down the string of photos on my wall and placing it on my bed. I sat next to my drawers and opened them. Caleb handed me boxes, and helped me put the clothes I'd be taking with me. I set out clothes for the next five days, however.

Caleb's family came over that day, and helped pack up everything. We got almost everything, except for furniture, packed up.

"You guys can stay at our place until you move." Ms. Katie told my mom.

"I'm sure Brooklyn and Henley would be fine with that, as long as its okay with you." My mom said.

"Absolutely."

"Thanks."

I grabbed my mini suitcase and headed to Caleb's for the next five days I'd be in Maryland.
