I cried into Berlitz for a little while, Berlitz being the good dog he is sat there and let me hug and cry into him. "I just want to disappear. Everyone could be happier that way" I bubbled, Berlitz raised a paw onto my leg as if it was an act to calm me down. "Your a good boy. A very good boy Berlitz, Germany and Prussia are really lucky to have you" I patted him and rubbed my eyes with my free hand. Berlitz wagged his tail.
There was a clash of loud thunder, making Berlitz jump as well as making me scream. I grabbed my pillow and ran out into the hallway almost instinctively. I had nothing but my shirt and boxers on and the house was cold. "Ve~ what am I doing? Germany doesn't want me in his bed tonight" I said to myself as I realized I was heading to Germany's room. Berlitz followed me as he was protecting me from the dark hallways. "I can't run to Germany's bed, I want to prove to him that I can sleep by myself. That way he can't be mad at me for being a coward all the time" I protested, putting my fist to my chest and standing straight like Germany told us to do during training. "I am not useless!" There was another loud clash of thunder. "Ah! Germany!~" I cried out running to his room, Berlitz chasing me. I ran into his room, it was dark other than a single bedside lamp. "Germany must have forgotten to turn it off" I said to me self. Berlitz sat at the foot of the bed sitting wagging his tail at his sleeping master. The other two dogs weren't in the room. I tip toed over to the bed and sat my pillow down on the side Germany wasn't sleeping on.
I crawled up, Berlitz still watching Germany, I did my best to make sure I didn't wake him. "I'm sorry Germany, I couldn't sleep myself" I whispered, fluffing up my pillow. Germany muttered something in his sleep before rolling over onto his back. His hair was actually longer than I expected because it was always slicked back, it was almost touching his eyes. "he's so cute when he sleeps. Don't you think Berlitz?" I whispered smiling at Germany's sleeping face. he looked much more relaxed when he sleep and it was the first time i had noticed, I normally fall asleep first. I noticed something on his forehead, so I crawled over him to get a better look at the bubble looking thing. "Germany's sweating?" I said as I wiped it off him with my index finger, "But it's cold in here?"
Germany grumbled again then began to open his eyes. I froze up as he moved his face. "Ita? Ah! ITALY!" He yelled, I screamed in reply, jumping off him and the bed, hurting my ankle in the process and ran out of his room. Why did i do that!? Why am I so stupid! Romano's right I am an idiota! I though as I ran down the hall and into the nearest room I could find. With a flash of lightening I trembled and noticed I had into Germany's office. "I gotta hide! I don't want him to find me! He's going to hate me and maybe kick me out in this storm!" I whispered, I ran around the dark room looking for a place to hide, I tried behind the filing cabinets but they were pushed against the wall, I tried the cupboards they were too small, and I struggled to open a wardrobe that was locked. Under the desk! I could hide there and sleep there. At least it'll be sort of comfy I ran for Germany's desk and crawled under it, pulling the chair in to make it look as if i wasn't in the room. The thunder still grumble outside and the rain sounded like it would smash the windows at any second.
I pulled my legs up to my face and wrapped my arms around them begging to myself that Germany doesn't find me. Shit! Berlitz! I suddenly remembered, Berlitz was in the room, he hasn't left me all day. He could tell Germany were I was. Why didn't I stay! Why didn't I let Germany yell at me! Why did I have to be a coward!. The door opened and I caught my breath. I heard the claws of dogs walk into the room and a German order them to hunt. My eyes started to water.
The dogs started to sniff around the room, looking for my hiding place. I held my breath as best as i could, my hand getting tighter around my mouth and cheeks so i didn't make a single sound. I heard one of the dogs walk closer and closer to the desk. I couldn't do anything but prey and prey that they didn't find me. "He isn't here. Next room!" the German ordered, the dogs ran out and the door closed. I exhaled and sucked in as much oxygen as my lungs could take. Berlitz didn't come and find me, none of them could. "That was terrifying" I whispered, my heart was smashing against my chest, I was so happy Germany didn't find me.
