The palace doors.

I sat by a bed in the house. I held my Grunckles hand, the hand I took for granted all these years I might lose. I felt the hot tears stream down my face. I heard my sister sobbing into Fords chest. I watched the doctor pack his thing peacefully as if none of this was happening.

"Are you sure you can't do anything?!" I said. I tasted the frustration slip off my tongue.

"Well maybe at the right price you could get a nice medicine that can cure him in an instant." I saw him rub his chin and the greed show in his eyes.

"How much?" I almost yelled.

"300,000 gem!" He said almost joyfully as he walked out the door.

I stood up and grabbed my bag. I rushed through out the house to get supplies when I heard my sister. "Dipper where are you going it is almost night." I heard the worry in her.

"I'm going to find a job and get the medicine." I walked out the door slamming it behind me. I grabbed a horse and rode into town. My heart pounded, it felt like it would pop out of my chest.

'He can't die. He won't.'

I sat at a tavern with my cloak hiding my face. A boy from the woods is either judged as a witch or a minion. A lot of people in this town already think I'm a witch so I'd rather not get burned at the stake. I heard the drunkards talk of the latest new comers who think they'll find the mysterious 'mystical creatures' but nothing on jobs or rich men. I was about to leave when something caught my attention.

"Have you heard about that killer who came into the palace?" Said a dark wizard I new as Robbie. He is famous around here.

"Yeah it was a massacre in there. I heard that mostly the servants had died and are looking for new ones." Said one of the lumber jacks.

"Those servants get paid 10000 gem a day." Said a blonde guy.

"Yeah, but you know what they are used for right. They have to be used as shields for the upcoming princes and do other gruesome and disgusting jobs." Said the lumber jack again. I walked up and slammed my hands against the table. They all looked at me ready to fight but were surprised my what I had said.

"How do I get hired?" I said causing the men to jump in surprise. I waited as they stared into little part of my face they could see.

"Why do you need to know boy." Said Robbie. I grabbed his cloak and got really close to his face and whispered in his ear.

"None of your business bud just tell me and I won't rip your head off." I felt his body tense once he realized who I was.

"Y-you just have to ask for the job!" He said. I threw him back down and turned to leave when suddenly I felt a someone pull on my cloak, making my hood fall from my head.

"Hey Lumber guy stop do you even know who that is?! Dipper pines!" Robbie said  panic in every word. I was actually harmless but the mind is a delicate tool the smallest sense of danger can put your mind on high alert and fear will coarse through you. I use this reaction to my own benefit.

I turned around and gave the man behind me the nastiest glare I had. I saw him go pale for a second but he looked behind me and his pride flowed back into him.

"Yep and so do they." He said. I turned around to see the royal guards suited in their gold armor and silver chains. I saw the greed glaze through their eyes as they thought of the reward for me, which was no reward for a witch burning. The idiots of this town think they can get something out of me. I acted as quickly as I could and ran through the crowed trying to find an exit. I couldn't they had gotten me I kicked and punched my way through them. I may not be what people think of me as but I was strong. I got outside and got the horse to run to distract them as I ran down a alleyway. I ran as fast as could to get out of there when I slammed into something, no someone.

I sat on the ground as I tried to get myself back together. I looked up to see young man around my age looking down at me with a smile. "You okay kid? You were running pretty fast." he said almost high pitched voice. His golden locks almost seemed like a halo.I got up and heard the guards coming through this way. I started to run but the man grabbed me. I tried to push him away but he was freakishly strong.  I heard the soldiers get closer and closer, and then the man started talking. "What do you think you are doing with this man? I told you to gather information on Will!" He said. I had assumed he was the head of this group judging by his strength and the way the guards coward in his presence. I felt him suddenly lose his grip and I escaped.

I got as far as I could until I couldn't anymore. I bent over trying to catch my breath. I saw the sun starting to set so I decided to call it a night. I got to an inn and got a room. I fell asleep rather quickly.

I felt myself on a hard floor. I tried to get up but I couldn't, I couldn't move. I suddenly heard a fuzzy voice from all around me. "Your mine kid. Forever."  I freaked out and tried to move but I couldn't I struggled I kicked I punched but I couldn't move I was stuck, stuck in the dark.

I woke up to the sun shining through the window and got up. Today I was going to get that job at the castle and gaining the money for Stan's medicine. I got outside and started walking since my horse  ran off somewhere when I had to escape those guards.

It wasn't long until I got to the castle since I was already in the center of town. I saw a few commoners like me standing in front of the door but only about twenty I waited like them when finally the doors opened and a butler spoke loudly to the crowed.

"You may enter."
