It was about 1 hour into Dan's 'shift' and he had only just located his manager. He had found Harry Daphne wandering among the massive crowd that was obviously intrigued by something happening with the strippers. Ew. Harry was a middle-aged man, around his 40's or 50's, and his manner was quite objectifying. He had stringy grey locks, and eyes that seemed to lock onto you, target your inner soul. It was sort of creepy.
'Follow me, Son.' Harry instructed without a word of introduction. Not willing to start off on his bad side, Dan did as his boss wanted. Following Harry's swift movements was difficult because the place was made up of so many alleys and intersecting hallways. Along the walls there were numerous images and paintings of erotic nature, giving the hall a disturbing aura.
They suddenly halted when they arrived at what seemed to be another entrance. Unlike the first one main door, the contents of this one seemed more isolated and gloomy. Dan slotted his head through the opening of the door. All that was inside were six dark tables. 'This is your new workplace, Daniel.' Harry explained.
"T-tables, sir?" Dan was extremely confused about what his manager meant. How would his job be tables? What did that mean?? "Oh boy, you're a funny one." Mr. Daphne replied. "The job isn't the tables themselves, it's what you do to them." That was the last thing Daniel wanted to hear as he stared despairingly at the neglected counters. His mind was set into a whirlpool of emotions and he began to feel dizzy. "You're gonna be cleaning tables for a living!" he heard his boss say, which was followed by a cackle of which Dan had never heard before. A life smoker, he assumed. This was officially it. He was a table cleaner.
