"Hey, do you need some help with that box?" a boy says, laughing as he walks up from behind me. I shiver at the thought that someone saw my embarrassing accident. "Uh, I think I'm good." I say nervously, I really didn't want to look at this boys face after what had just happened. The boy looks at my mess that had fallen out and kneels down to help. "I said it was-" I say being cut off by the boy, "I guess i'm just to stubborn. Comes from my moms side of the family." he says smirking.

"My name's Darren," he says as he put's a ripped photo of my dad into the box, "What's yours?" I look over at the boy for the first time, and our eyes awkwardly meet. I lightly blush at the awkwardness. He was about 3 inches taller than me with dark brown hair and piercing green eyes. "My Name?" I say due to the moment we just shared. "Yes your name, or do you not have one?" Darren says jokingly. "haha, very funny," I say sarcastically, "My names Joslyn." Darren looks at me for a moment and tries to say my name, "joselyn?" he says incorrectly. "No, J-O-S-L-Y-N. Don't worry everyone gets it wrong, just call me Jo." I say.

"alright Jo, were's your apartment? I can carry your box there if you would like." Darren says. I look down not realizing he had already packed up the whole box while I was telling him my name. "Uh," I look up to find my mom unlocking our door, "the one that lady is standing at." "Is that your mom?" he asks standing up. "Yea." I say standing up as well. I just stood there for a moment not realizing I was staring into his piercing green eyes. He stood doing the same thing I assume, or he might of been thinking how weird I was. "I guess we should start walking?" he says shaking the box gently to show me it was quite heavy and he wanted to get it to the destination as soon as possible.

We start walking quietly and awkwardly and I didn't exactly like that so I tried to strike a conversation, "so, how long have you lived here?" "My whole life I guess, I moved in here when I was only 3." Darren says. The conversation stopped there as we walk in through the front door of my new apartment. "Wow." I say having a lack of words for what I was seeing. I didn't much want to move into the city, but I had to because of what happened. This made up for all of that, well mostly. The view was amazing, looking straight onto the inner city, something you would think only being in pictures. The space, it was more than we ever had in our old town house. I didn't believe i would be shocked to live in an apartment, but I defiantly was.

"You like it?" my mom says not paying any attention to Darren. "Yes!" I say still shocked from it all. Mom looks over at Darren, "You already met a friend?" she says excitingly. I could tell she was relived I was adapting quickly, well from what she was seeing. "Hah, No ma'am, I just was there when she dropped her box of stuff, just wanted to help," Darren says smiling, "buuut, if she would like to be friends I would be totally up for it." I look at Darren for a moment, "Then consider us friends." mom is staring at us giddily but is cut off by her train of thought "Ok hon, your room is the one on the right, I thought you would like it more." "alright." I say walking toward the bedroom Darren following close behind.

We walk into the room and putt the box and luggage down. "I can unpack later." I say. Darren looks at me while I examine the room to see if i like it, and trust me, I did. "Hey! I just remembered I'm going over to my best friend Carson's house later, you should come!" Darren says. "What would you guys be doing?" I say, the boys from were I used to live would go dirt biking, or mudding, andI wasn't quite into that. I do know that it's the city and those things wouldn't really be possible, but I just thought they might be planning to do something like that.

"probably just going to play video games and talk about things. sometimes we go down to the near coffee shop and grab a bite to eat. Are you up for that?" I loved video games, and coffee, so this was a perfect opportunity to know my surroundings and meet new people. "I would love to!" I say excitingly. Maybe I wouldn't hate the city as much as I thought.

                                                                     Darren's POV

"I would Love to!" Joslyn says. I got to admit I was super exited to meet Joslyn or Jo, I don't really know what to call her. She may be weird, but it's a good weird I guess, she's got a quirk to her, and I just can't shake it off. I don't think I like her *that* way, but there is just something about her, her pretty blue eyes, her shimmering smile, her long straight hair... "bah." I say shaking my head. "Did you just bah like a sheep?" she jokes. "No, just got caught in the moment I guess." I was blushing. Why was I blushing? I never Blush. Not even for my girlfriend, but to be honest, me and her both know things are not going to work out how we thought, maybe a fresh face will help me get over what happened with her. I hope.
