Anita Pov

I wake up early an had a quick shower, I got dressed in denim shorts, a loose t shirt and sneakers. I tie my hair up in a messy pony tail and grab my bag, I walk down stairs to find my darling sisters eating breakfast "Valentia, what the fuck are you wearing" I said disgusted at her outfit "clothes" She says rolling her eyes "your going to school not a damn strip club" I said shaking my head as I make myself a coffee.

She ended up changing into something more appropriate before we left in my car, Valentia & I share a car but she's a horrific driver so I'm the one that drives. I felt my palms start to sweat as I pull up into the school parking lot and park the car in an empty space. We pile out an walk into the school, Valentia spoke with the office lady about our schedules while I look at a guy sitting on a chair near the principals office.

He was good looking, sort of muscular, dark hair, tanned skin and he looked very angry, his fists were clenched with blood on his knuckles, he see's me gawking at him an smirks, I quickly look away blushing. Valentia hands me my schedule before she went to walk Venus to class, I look at it and mentally kick myself in the face when I see that I had maths first.

I was about to leave the office when Principal Turner stops me "Miss Barker, would you be so kind as to make sure Mr Lucas goes to maths" He asks in a stern tone "yeah sure" I said shrugging an the guy followed me out of the office "what's your name?" He asks as we walk down the corridor "Anita, what's yours?" I ask smiling "Gabe" He says with a small smirk.

"It's nice to meet you" I said an gave him a smirk back before we walk into class and he sits with two other guys as I find a spare seat next to a blonde chick who had her nose in a book, I copy the work as the teacher writes on the whiteboard, I answer all the questions but while I was working I notice Gabe tormenting a guy in front of him, the guy was pale skinned, sort of muscular, dark brown hair that was spiked up, he was wearing glasses and trying to do his work but he looked quite upset about Gabe bullying him.

When the bell rang I slowly pack my book in my bag an wait for Gabe & his idiot friends to leave before I approach the other guy "excuse me but I'm new and I was wondering if you could help me find my next class" I ask nervously, he looks at me "yeah sure" He says smiling an I show him my schedule as we walk out of the classroom "I'm Anita by the way" I said perkily.

"I'm Jace, you have the same classes as me so you can hang with me until you know where your going unless you don't want to which is fine" He says clearing his throat "I think I'll just hang with you" I said smiling, he smiles back before we silently walk to English, he sits at the front row and I sit beside him even though Gabe waved me over to sit with him and some blonde haired guy.

"Your boyfriend is pissed off that your sitting with me" Jace says amused "he isn't my boyfriend" I said rolling my eyes an hear a whimper? ummm ok, I notice Jace tensed slightly but I ignore it and did my work until Valentia walks in late "sorry I'm late" She says sheepishly to the teacher who scowled her as she quickly sits beside me "hey sis, why so late?" I ask smirking.

"I was with Adam" She says wiping the corners of her lips, I scrunch up my nose in disgust "well this is Jace, Jace this is my sister Valentia" I said cheerfully "are you two twins or something" He asks curiously "no, were both adopted from different families" I said shrugging, I look back at Gabe who was glaring at the back of Jace's head.

He see's me looking an his eyes soften but he still looked shitty, I turn back around and my stomach was so happy for Recess, I scoffed so much food that I felt sick. I left the cafeteria by myself because I told Jace & my sisters that I had to go to the bathroom, I walk into the girls bathroom and did my business, I wash my hands an walk back out only to see Gabe waiting.

"Stay away from that freak" He growls lowly "he isn't a freak, Gabe, and you can't talk, wolf boy" I said amused "Jace is a vampire, Anita, wolves aren't supposed to get along with them" He says crossing his arms "I know what I'm doing" I said gently taking his hand when I notice how he was starting to shake slightly "what are you doing?" He frowns "making friends, I don't care what he is, he's my friend now and there's nothing you can do or say about it, I've only known you for a few hours so don't think just cause were mates that you can tell me what to do" I said in a stern tone, he grumbles something under his breathe.

"Fine but can I see you after school, I want to get to know you" He asks in a soft gentle voice as he rubs his thumb over mine "sure" I murmur letting go of his hand and I went back to the cafeteria..
