Running down the hall he darts around the house, cleaning everything he can, his father was coming home today. He just could help his excitement, the young eight year old hasn't seen his father in three weeks. He could help but just want to smile. He jumps down the stairs and sits on the chair, awaiting for the door to spring open.
" Jackston get in here now," his mother called angrily, " you get over here." Jackston hesitated before going to his mother. Another wine bottle in her hand and a drunk look to her. With long black hair she reminded him of a demon.
" Yes mother, you needed me?" He questioned, looking at her with hopeful eyes.
" your father will be here in five minutes, go get me some more wine from the cellar," she spoke drinking more from the bottle. Jackston nods running down the stairs and down to the cellar, stopping to find the light. Come to us he heard from the darkness, follow us he shook his head, and marched forward. " I can't play right now, father is coming home, find me wine pretty please? I hate the dark," he spoke sweetly. Waiting, when an old bottle of ice wine rolls to his feet.
" Oh, thank you dearly my friends," he grabs the bottle and runs upstairs. Don't leave us, come back. He kept moving, had to keep moving. He runs up handing the bottle to his mother. As he does so, the door clicks and swings open, hitting the wall gently like a bell to a hotel. Looking down the steps, stood the one person he wanted oh so badly to see.
" I'm missing a big boy in my arms, where is he?" Questioned the man, Jackston bolts down the stairs like lightning.
" Father! Father I'm here I'm here!" He exclaimed reuniting with his father warm and gently hug. His father laughs, picking up his only son holding him so close. Jackston felt the world just freeze, just for him, just for the moment. Everything was frozen.
