Katerina taped her finger on the computer desk. Looking into the screen. Waiting for the answer to scare her back into reality. The question wasn't difficult really. What Element can distinguish a flame. And Ignite a flame. Check all that apply. The answer swirled in her head. All of a sudden military troops opened the door. They took Katerina by the shoulder and escorted her out. "Times up" one of the guards flared. Their voice hollow and emotionless. "I was only on question two." Katerina snapped. Katerina and the two troops came out of the dim hallway and went into a dimmer elevator. Katerina scanned the troops in the bad florescent lights.
Mmm, black uniform with silver pins and gold buttons. A black handgun in his belt and a rifle slinged across his back. It shined with silver. We were in Kiro sector. They had took me all the way to Kiro Sector. From Robin sector my home sector, that was a long way.
The Elevator dinged and it opened. The troops escorted me out to the platform. We were outside. A huge audience in the seats lined up against the sky roared when they saw Katerina step out of the tunnel. They pushed her in the middle and ran back to the tunnel they came out of. One of the troops looked at the other.
"You ready?" He asked him.
"James, I was born ready." The man smirked. He pushed a little blue button and a cage circled the arena Katerina was in. Some people in the crowd were protesting, cheering and crying. James pushed a silver button and blood covered Katerina. Ot soaked the beautiful white jumper she was wearing.
"Are you ready for the big guy Don?" James asked.
"It's the right thing to do." Don smiled cheekily and pressed a gold button. A gate lifted up across from Katerina. Her fists balled up at her sides and she embraced for impact. The crowd cheered and cried. Katerina kissed her fist and held it to a girl in the audience, one who was crying, her mother. A serpent crawled out of the tunnel the gate was blocking. It was bigger then any snake and it could kill her in one strike. Hell it could kill her in a 1/2 strike. She pulled her sword she was given from her back. It was nestled in a slith under her jumper. She drew it and struck the viper before it could her. She missed and tripped. The audience roared. The viper had started to circle around her coiling around. She got dizzy. Her sword dropped and she fell to the ground. The dust poofed around her as she fell. The snake touched her frail body. She felt her back burn. It felt as niddles were poking her skin over and over and over again. The snake didn't harm her as it was supposed to. Instead it coiled her as her own eggs ready to hatch any day.
"What the hell?" Don asked tapping James shoulder James turned around to look at Don.
"It didn't hurt her, it helped her" Don informed James as he pointed at the larger then life snake and the tiny little girl in the center. James was fed up. He pressed a red button and the gate to the tunnel lifted. He went right up to the snake a kicked it in the scales. The snakes head whipped around and ate him. Don who had followed him out got swooped up by her long tongue and chopped in her teeth. The crowd started to flee from their seats.
