Joselyn's POV:
***
I was walking behind Rebecca and Kristy on our way to Geometry, like I do every morning. All I wanted to do was go back to bed. My eyes are so tired and my body hurts from exhaustion.
For the past few weeks I've been kept awake because of a dream I keep on having. It's the same dream every night and it's terrifying. I've also been getting a lot of headaches and that just causes me to be irritable.
I zone out for a second, looking down at my feet while Rebecca and Kristy walk farther ahead. Without looking, I accidentally walk into a girl, I think she's on the volleyball team.
"Watch it cow!" Her voice was harsh and I tried to hide the fact that she hurt my feelings.
"Oh, sorry. I'm sorry." My voice was shaky as I looked up at the two taller girls in front of me. One of them was looking down at me sadly.
"It's fine, it was an accident. Jenny, please apologize for calling her a cow." The others girl,s voice was very calm and caring as she looked down at me.
"Why? It's true though."
I could see that the nicer girl start to get irritated with Jenny.
"No, it's not. I'll see you at practice." The girl nodded towards Jenny and smiled down at me while Jenny walked away.
"Sorry for walking into you. I didn't mean to, I was just spaced out."
She laughs lightly and shakes her head. "It's fine, no need to.apologize. I'm sorry about Jenny, she doesn't realize when she hurts people."
I nod slightly and mess with the hem of my sleeve, looking up at the girl. She is very tall and fit, she looks as if the goes to the gym a few times a week. Her eyes are a gorgeous honey brown that matches her brunette hair perfectly. She is wearing a white t-shirt with black jeans that fit her long legs nicely. My thoughts were interrupted by a quiet chuckle.
"Are you done checking me out or do I need to wait?"
"I was just... Sorry. I'm Josie," my cheeks were flushed red as I looked up at her.
"I'm Jill, it's nice to meet you Josie." Her voice was happy and genuinely caring as she smiled down at me.
"Nice to meet you too Jill." I smiled nervously while messing with my sleeves.
"You're in the same lunch as me, right? I thought I saw you the other day. You should sit with me."
"Well, uh. I don't think your friends would like me."
She lets out a laugh and shakes her head.
"I don't sit with them. I sit with my real friends, they'll think you're great."
"Oh uh, okay maybe."
To be honest, I was kind of glad she was asking me to sit with her. Rebecca and Kristy have the same lunch but I don't, so I usually just sit alone.
"So, you're a junior right? Do you like volleyball?"
"Yeah, I'm a junior. Umm, I like to watch, but I don't like to do sports. I get too much anxiety."
She nods and smiles. "Well, you should come to our game after school today. We're facing Oak and our team is really good."
"I don't know... I'll get back to you on that."
"Alright, well I got to go. I'll see you at lunch?"
I nod and smile shyly before she runs off to class, her hair swaying slightly.
