Chapter 1

Elven

Students getting ready for morning class as usual...
"I know this may sound weird, but I think I'm in love...".

"She doesn't like you though", he said to the student behind him, "I don't care, she-". The sound of a door closing shut stopped the whispers.

"Ok people take you're seats, it's time for a pop quiz!" Said the teacher all excited with a sly smile. I groaned "Not again..." I knew that if I failed this quiz, he will embarrass me in front of everyone again and I couldn't let that happen, I had a reputation to uphold or so I though.

I grabbed my pen and nervously started tapping the school chair over and over until the teacher came by me and slammed the paper on my desk, "Well well well... Can you handle this quiz Or need I remind you of your previous failures?" Asked the teacher smiling sarcastically.

I knew what he meant, but ever since I started this history class Months ago, he's been comparing me to my Twin Brother Raven... And to tell you the truth I hated being compared to him.

We don't even look alike, he is 5'5, Long Black Hair with Green color eyes, super intelligent, amazing at sports and famous with the girls, I am also 5'5, Short Silver Hair with Silver color Eyes and before you ask, No I am not old, I have some type of DNA thing that made my eyes and hair a silver color and I have been picked on over and over because of it, I'm not good at sports, bad at school and the girls hate me for some unknown reason.

"Teach is this even necessary?" I said with hate in my voice "Almost everyday is the same thing, you come in and give us pop quizzes, then you walk to my desk and start talking to me about my brother and inability to be intelligent and do my work. Can you for once leave me alone!".
He looked shocked for a second, then his expression changed quick, "I will not stand here and be talked like that by a mere student!. Go to the principals office Elven, I do not tolerate kids who are hooligans and stupid". I stood up from the chair, grabbed my backpack and went out to the hallway.

While walking through the hallway, I passed the Classroom 1A and right there in the front seats was my Twin Brother Raven reading a book all 'cool'. He looked up and saw me at the door, he smiled at me, but I was too mad so I ignored him and continued my way to Principal Wilmer's office.
Once I arrived, his Secretary, Ms. Roberts looked at me with disgust, "Here Again Elven... What did you do now?" She asked me sarcastically, but I decided to ignore her completely. 10 minutes passed and Principal Wilmer opened his office door and let a student out "Stay out of trouble Tyson, ok?". The kid passed by me and gave me a pissed off look and then a smiled.

The principal looked down in disappointment, He looked at me and sighed, "Come on in Elven", I followed him inside and took my Favorite chair, "What did you do this time?" He gave me this look of I already know why your here, but I'm asking you to give you a choice to speak. I looked at him and carefully chose my words. "The teacher has it out for me again, talking to me about my brother and how I am idiotic and stupid and my brother is smart and handsome..." The principal stood up and poured some coffee on his cup, "Listen Elven, your brother is the top student in this school, he has been for many years and he is very good in almost all of the sports here... But you are the complete opposite, you lack attention, can't stop moving in your chair" he said while I was rolling side ways on the chair, I stopped mid way. "What I'm trying to say is, why can't you be more like him" he said without looking at me and drinking his coffee peacefully. "Everyone is always saying that, Why? Its not fair!" I started shedding tears and I didn't care, I've had enough "Why can't people accept me for who I am and not expect me to be something I am not!". There was a pause and I picked my backpack and left the office.

Outside was my brother waiting for me, "Hey Elven is everything ok?" He walked towards me and tried to put his hand on my shoulder, "Why is it always you Raven?... I've tried hard to be myself and to try my best at everything, but I'm not intelligent like you and I'm not an athlete and I look old!" I stormed off, but Raven kept close behind me, we went to the bus stop outside and waited. I looked to Raven and he was looking down sad. I felt horrible because I didn't mean to say all those things to him... "I'm So---" I can't say it.

" Raven, I shouldn't have said all those things, you are my brother after all" I said softly giving him a hug, "You know Elven, people always talk bad about you in school, in class, everywhere, but they don't know the real you..." I looked surprised by his answer, "Ever since we were raised by Uncle Oscar, You are the one that has been able to adapt to medieval fighting and wearing armor and all those kind of things, were I am only good at sports, school and chess".

We were quiet for a while, then he gave me a hug and we started laughing about what kind of prank Oscar had for us at the manor.

Oh yeah, Our parents died when we were little and we were sent to our uncles manor which is in the outskirts of town, as the bus pulled over and opened the doors, I waited impatiently because the bus driver was the coolest person ever, " Heeey yooo, if it isn't the twins Mr. Black and Mr. White, you guys ready to go home? " He said with a huge grin and gave us each a high five. Me and Raven sat at the back talking about random things, when the bus driver closed the door and pressed the gas. We nearly fell out of our seats. "What's w-w-w-wrong!?" I stutter holding on to the seat, the town passing us by quickly. I looked towards the bus window and I saw something black following us, it looked like a person with the features of a crow, Large black beak, large yellow eyes and sharp claws for hands and there was 4 of them, "Uh Raven, what are those things?!" I pulled on his shirt over and over until I looked over.

"Raven?" I said as he sat there teeth chattering and looking towards the bus driver, "What's happening Bob?!" Asked Raven tears starting to come out his eyes. "Kids I can't explain right now, but please stay there and don't move, we will arrive at your uncles house in a jiffy". Cars honking and people screaming bad names.

I was scared, I kept holding Ravens hand... I felt chills go down my spine, I turned around and the weird animals were a step away from the back of the bus. One of them started screeching so loud that the bus windows exploded. Then suddenly We were upside down, window shards everywhere and peaces of the bus slowly moving in the air. The ceiling grew closer... Then I felt an impact. I felt the hit, but not from the ceiling, but something else. I opened my eyes, and my body would not respond, my vision was blurry... I noticed Raven close to me, "Raven-" I tried to speak, but no words could come out. As I succumbed to the pain a voice inside of me whispered... "Its The Ra'zac, but don't worry I will keep you safe, my son".
