I never would have gone out with you if I'd have known what kind of a person you would become.
At first everything seemed fine. You were kind to me. You never raised your voice. You never needed to.
You had other ways of getting your way.
To make sure I dressed the way I wanted, you destroyed my wardrobe and bought me a new one you found pleasing.
To make sure I agreed with you, you went silent and ignored me until I gave in, pouting like a spoiled child.
To make sure I only talked to you, you told me spiteful, vicious lies about my friends and family. You said they never wanted me. You said they never loved me. You said . . . you said that they wanted me to die.
To make sure I never left you, you locked me in the house. You never let me leave. You changed me to the dining room table when I said I wanted to have some alone time.
To make sure I never disobeyed, you punished me. You trapped me in our room. You starved me, hit me, cut me, and I never said a word.
You broke me.
You broke me, but I hid something from you.
I never gave up.
I slowly tried to piece myself back together. To regain my voice, my strength, my will, my pride.
Now I'm going to leave. I'm going to leave and never come back.
If you come for me, I'll stop you.
