Chapter 1

Suri's POV

I sat in the bed my cousin gave me. I was reading the book I got at the library when I arrived. My  cousin Lori married her childhood crush two years after they reunited.

They didn't tell me or anyone about how they reunited. But who am I to judge. I just know that they are very wary of sleep, and they take meds now.

After my first night they bombed me with questions on how I slept. Oh well.

They have been acting weird since the news announced that two people died in their sleep. So I haven't told them of the nightmares I've been having. I mean everyone has nightmares. Mine just involve a creepy guy with a five knifed glove.

I was reading my book. I felt my eyes droop a bit as I read on telekinesis. I marked my space and went to put my book away. But decided aginst it.

I sat my book onto my bed and focused on it I gasped as it started to float in mid air.

"You're getting stronger." I gasped once more and looked up and saw the evil thing that has haunted my nightmares. I shot up from the bed.

"I'm not asleep yet! I never even shut my eyes." I said backing away. He chuckled and walked closer his claws twitching. I gulped. I looked back at the book on my bed and focus on it once more. It floated one more and I raised my hand and flung it toward, the book then flew at him.

When he was distracted I ran off.

When I ran threw the door I saw I was in the familiar boiler room. I could hear him laughing behind me. I ran off. I hid behind a steaming wall. I could hear him coming.

I need to wake up.

I looked at my arm and gulped. I slammed it into one of the boiling pipes. I screamed in pain and when I opened my eyes and saw I was in my room once more.

I saw the door open and Lori rushed in with Will right behind her.

"I'm fine. Just a bad dream is all." I said, hoping that they'd leave. Lori turned the light on, making me flinch at the sudden brightness, and walked over to me looking worried.

"Have you been having nightmares? What are they about?" She asked me quickly. I just sighed.

"No I haven't." Lie. "I'm fine. Everyone has a nightmare every now and then. Can I go back to sleep?" I asked. Lori and Will looked at each other with a worried look.

"Okay Suri. Sweet dreams." Will said taking hold of my cousin. I nodded and laid back down. Will turned the lights off and I laid there.

If it was just a dream...

I looked over at my book shelf. I focused on a book and pointed at it  with a finger. It came out of the bookshelf and floated to me.

I smiled at it.

Wait..

The book dropped with a dull thud since it wasn't that thick of a book. I looked at my arm..

A burnt mark was on it.

I gulped.

Was it a dream after all?
