Sophia's second year at Ilvermorny begins with the arrival of students from the Wizarding schools Castelobruxo and Mahoutokoro for the Quadrennial Magical Championships. Although she and her friends are disappointed that they won't be able to compete in the annual Wizard Cup, they're excited to meet the other students and make new friends.
However, the competition turns less than friendly when the brooch of Isolt Sayre--a treasured magical artifact of Ilvermorny--is stolen.
When the Professors and Headmistress are blocked from investigating from the batty inspector from the MACUSA, Sophia and her friends decide that it's up to them to solve the mystery--before the competition turns deadly.
