Today was my first day in an audition in Los Angeles. I was always imagining being in the audition room with many different famous directors and choreographers that needed someone new in the show on stage or screen. At the beginning of my audition I walked in the room to perform my song. My go to audition song was "She Used to be Mine" by Sara Bareilles. Each time I sing the song it gives me an extra boost of courage to make it through the day. After I sing I usually do a monologue or a reading from the script depending on what the people I'm auditioning for would prefer. After I do my reading of my monologue or from the script I move to dancing. I always did the same dance unless it was for the same director. I always had new ideas for what to do next. Each audition I did in New York was different because the world is smaller for directors. In California the world was much larger for me to be taking on.
I was always in either California or New York because of either visiting friends or auditioning. When I was growing up on the east coast I was in New York more because it was closer to my home town. When I would go to a show's opening night I would get to see some of the well-known directors and creative teams behind some of the top hit shows in New York I would more likely know them because I went to many opening nights to see friends. There was always a great time at opening nights. There weren't many opening nights that I didn't spend with friends without talking to new people in the business. The world of performing in New York was much smaller because everyone knows everyone one in the theatre community. California had a wide variety of different types. There are three main types that you can find in California and they are. The type that wears a dress and goes to every party. Another type is those who are caught in the bad situations
