As we all walked into the Farris wheel, he sat right next to me and put his feet right on my lap.
"You know, you look much better when you're happy" he said as Madi and Mckenzie climb on
"How do you know if I'm happy or not" I said looking at him unamused
"I can see it in your eyes"
"Well how do you know if I'm sad or not" I asked
"I can't see that, nobody will ever be able to see that" he said
"Why not?" I asked
"Because you're too good at hiding it"
"No, people just don't dig deep enough, and I'm glad" I said. after a long pause I finally look out "look how beautiful that is" I got really excited. I loved the view, I loved seeing the flashing lights from those janky rides and teens like us who came here just because all of their friends were here. I loved the funnel cakes dripping in grease and the sometimes creepy carneys with only a couple teeth.
I loved everything about the county fair, I loved how every year everyone would go the same night then go to Freddy's or sonic afterward to hang out. I loved how girls would dress in shorts and a tank top even though it's fall, so they would end up borrowing their friends hoodies because they're cold. I loved how you could really see who teenagers were after school, how they acted when it was just them and their friends.
"we should go on the orbiter next" Madi said, I liked that idea.
"Yeah, I'll ride with you" I said as I looked up at Madi and smiled.
I was happy, I am happy.
