Jumping up, I realized that I fell asleep. I crept downstairs, trying not to make any noise. Peering around the corner to go into the kitchen, I see Mike holding a broken piece of glass towards my mother, threatening
to cut her with it.
"I TOLD YOU TO COME HOME RIGHT AFTER WORK, WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU DOING?!" He yelled at her as she cried, mascara running down her face."I just went to the store, I'm sorry!" She cried as she said.
"Do you take me as a damn fool, Kiana?" He asked about to stab her.
"No!" I yelled coming around the corner, kicking him in the back of his head before running over to my mother.
"Go outside, I'll be back!" I said to her while running upstairs.
I went into my room, got a bag, and put some of our clothes in it while grabbing some money.
Running back downstairs, I see Mike standing at the end of the staircase.
"Where the fuck do you think you're going?" He pondered with a sinister smile on his face before he grabbed me.
Kiana's POV
Not seeing Tracey come outside for a while, I ran back in the house to see her getting beat up on the floor by Mike.
"Get your hands off of her!" I yelled at him.
He slowly let go of her body as she scrambled out of the door.
"Baby, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you guys. You know I have anger issues." He said in a sad voice, attempting to grab my hands.
Before he could, I took off running out the door, grabbing Tracey's hand before he could catch up to us.
Going to the nearest gas station, we stop to catch our breath and check for bruises.
I looked at Tracey and saw her bloody face and arms covered in black and blue spots.
Crying, we held each other while sitting on the concrete, praying he doesn't find us.
