Chapter 2

Adrianna's POV :

Later that night, when Jason was out doing who knows what, I was sitting on the couch and I got to thinking. "What did happen to the best friend of mine?" I thought to myself.

When Chad and I were in high school, we were the best of friends. But that all changed when I joined him on the road. So I decided to find out by texting him. "Whatever happened to my best friend Chad?" I type into my phone before I hit send.

He then looked at me from his bed and gave me a small frown before walking up and sitting next to me but not to close.

"You know, I'll always be here. Right?" Chad asks me looking into my eyes

"Um, no. Chad a few months ago right before I joined you two on the road, I was so excited." I start to explain playing with my hands before adding, " But all he does is treat me like shit. I thought I would be treated nicely, like I matter, but I guess I was wrong."

"Hey Adrianna?" He asks using my full first name.

"Yeah ?" I ask him looking up at his semi-wide face.

"You do matter. I'm so glad that you were finally able to come on the road with Jason and I. Jason, he has been going through some things this past couple of months." Chad explains before he gives me a big, tight hug.

I took in his scent as we sat there hugging. He smells like his pina colada cologne. I smiled widely but smiled even wider when he kissed my cheek, and I then felt my face heat up a little bit. He then pulled back and saw it before chuckling.

I try to wipe it off, hiding my face in his right shoulder, before he says, "Glad to know I get you heated."

I let out a smile before we sit and he grabs the remote. He then turns the TV on.

We then cuddle on the couch as he went from channel to channel trying to find something for us to watch.

"Can we watch Haven?" I said referring to a SYFY show we loved watching together as kids.

"Yeah." He says as he put it on.

"What do you want?" The main character, Audrey asked her kidnapper who she couldn't see while tied up.

"You have a very special power Audrey.." The person said to her referring to Audrey's immunity to the troubles.

"What do you want? My immunity?" Audrey asks

"Just beat her bum..." I whisper before Chad chuckles
We then went on to watch a few more episodes.

Jason came in a few episodes in and just went to bed.

A few episodes in, I started to fall asleep. I guess he noticed and after the episode was over, he took me to bed. At this time, my eyes were closed, but I wasn't quite asleep.

He put me under the blanket before he kissed my forehead.
"I love you," I heard a voice say before I fell asleep
