My Bonny Demoiselle

"Chaka ka." I always hear this everytime I fail on jokes or on my actions. Chaka, panget, chararat that's how my siblings describe me. I really don't know how to describe myself, but in all fairness; hindi naman ako yung worst case ng definition ng panget. Well, if compared to my siblings, I may not be as gorgeous and as smart kagaya nila, but I am contented on what I have, on what I am.

I grew up with all the negative comments circling in my mind from time to time. It may be a destruction to my being, but what's good about it, is-- I eventually got used to it, and I just don't care anymore.

"Clarisse! Look, this hot guy from our school asked for my number!" That's Julianne, I am just two years older than her. She's pretty pero hindi sya gaanong biniyayaan ng brains, not that stupid; but she's gullible. She often have red marks on her school cards and she uses her pretty face to justify her grades.

"He's not hot. Maputi lang tsaka varsity, hot kaagad?" I reacted.

"Bitter much? Palibhasa walang nagkakagusto sa'yo." She turned her back on me and ran to her room giggling.

"Well, di naman ako nagmamadali. I'll wait and I'll make sure that guy deserves me." I said in my thoughts.

I continued strolling in our garden, then there's Kuya Dave and his girlfriend, Jamie.

"Aruuuy! Wag ka namang nanggugulat Clarisse!" Kuya shouted.

He's an English Professor in one of the universities dito but I doubt how he passed the board exam. I am quite disappointed sa grammar and pronunciation niya minsan.

"Wow, ang harsh mo naman sa kapatid mo." Jamie said. "Hayaan mo yan, wag kang makinig sa kanya." She added.

I just smiled and walked away. It's funny na minsan, I am still offended by these creatures. Kung sino pa yung hindi mo kapatid, sila pa yung nagtatanggol sa'yo. Well, ganun  siguro talaga yung buhay; there are things we cannot control; there are things na hindi natin gusto pero nangyayari pa din sa atin.

"Wala kang klase?" Ate Tet. Panganay, perfectionist, pala-utos. Sabi niya pretty tsaka brainy daw siya but not yet perfect. Kinda true, pero she smoke and drink. I find it somewhat cool because she can manage her vices yet she's successful in her career but I don't think I like it kasi it is still an abnormal behavior. Normal people don't drink liquor and use cigars nor rant everyone kapag badtrip siya, and that's not her. She's abnormal.

"Hoy, wala kang klase?" She repeated. Umiling lang ako tapos umupo sa couch malapit sa kinauupuan nya.

"I said no, kung hindi siya pumayag then terminate him!"

Nakakarindi talaga siya kapag stressed sa office nila. Pakiramdam ko tuloy, ako yung sinisigawan niya. She's an Operations Supervisor in a BPO company and also a writer sa isang local magazine. She's too much to handle, too expressive and too ruling.

I just ignored her and plugged in my earphones.

"Where are you going?" I heard someone said.

Si Ate Harrie. "You look--"

"Ugly?" I cut her off.

"No, horrible." She chuckled. "May pinagdadaanan ka ba?" She asked.

"Ha? Wala naman." I answered.

"Okay. Well, you're lying." She smirked, and I frowned.

"Well, based on Psychology, kapag ganyan ang mukha ng tao, especially sa teenage years eh meron silang pinagdadaanan. Obviously in your case..--"
