Despite everything, you looked at your window reflection, it's still you.
You buzzed over the peculiarities as you crossed streets and walked alongside roads to get to your college. You looked up on a clock outside the main hall.
8:43
With only 2 minutes to spare you continued to walk towards your morning class.
The bell pressured students to head to class and you swept open the door, before getting mixed in the flooded confusion of the freshman hall.
Several students were already in the room awaiting the arrival of the teacher to lecture.
The teacher you knew was what many of your peers called "goat mom". She was obviously a motherly figure of a goat, bringing butterscotch cinnamon pie to the class when it was one's birthday. Basically other freshmen prayed to get in her lecture but only so few were lucky.
Like you.
She was Ms. Dreemurr, but preferred to be called Ms. Toriel, for specific reasons. To put in point, her ex-husband who had murdered 6 human children in the Underground was officially off her favorites list. He attempted to back together with her, apologizing and willingly wanting to do anything for her but her refusal scared him away. For a while that is. Until he came crawling back and even applied to be a teacher in the college just to be able to see her.
It disgusted her greatly, but ignored it often.
More students arrived in time and the teacher followed in after a group of students entered.
Ms. Toriel had white fur, and wore a purple polka dot dress with a lavender cardigan. She had glasses that gently rested upon her face, her ears drooped to the side, and her tiny goat horns that didn't seem threatening.
"Good morning my children! How are you all today? I know it has been quite gloomy at this time, but I hope it will turn out to be better!"
The students in your class were luckily not boneheads and didn't make any rude remarks as you would imagine the other freshmen would. In fact, everyone was intelligent when it came to this class, humans, monsters, this part of campus was well controlled.
Your other classes contained a few careless classmates with a thirst for humor in the most demeaning way.
"Anywho, today in (insert your major), we will learn on the topic of finances for this particular careering", she continued with a smile.
Her smile reassured your safety, and her presence led you to believe that not everything in the world is corrupt.
Sure, the campus and a few mile radius of the area was perfectly safe, but the neighboring miles were dreadful. With car alarms, splotches of blood on items, theft, you name it.
Ms. Toriel drawled on and on about important techniques and ways to survive in a thriving career like this. After everything that has happened, you couldn't focus and keep your eyes opened. You had been developing a headache since when the students laughed at Ms. Toriel's remark.
Her class is until ten, you kept telling yourself. The determination wasn't enough.
You fell asleep.
"Wakey wakey from your slumber (Y/N)", a soothing but stern voice arose.
Your eyes gently opened to the blinding classroom light above. Shadows did loom out the window, but you were barely stretching in your seat.
"I do hope you learned a thing or two, education is severely important here in the Unde- I m-mean in c-college", she murmured.
"I-I was really tired and I just...", your voice trailed off as your rubbed your eyes.
Ms. Toriel sighed and shook her head.
"(Y/N), I'm afraid that you have to stay after class for a while. You need to know your priorities."
You nodded grimly and listened to the rest of class time of Ms. Toriel droning on about insurance.
The bell rung and everyone had left class, chattering about whatever the hell they liked.
You stayed in your seat and Ms. Toriel turned a desk to sit in front of you, her hands held together.
"(Y/N) I would usually left you off with a warning but, my child, what happened earlier?"
"W-What do you mean?", you asked, trying to act dumb.
"Mr. Dreemurr's friend usually checks up with him if there's an... incident. You seem to have been caught up in one but they spared me the details."
"Nothing's wrong Miss, I just did a silly mistake-"
"No student of mine leaves this class until I hear what happens to them", she interrupted, holding her palm facing you.
"H-Honestly, everything's alright-"
"(Y/N)"
You let out an exasperated sigh and mumbled, "Okay, yes I did go into an alley alone to try to help a guy but someone saved me and all, that's it."
Ms. Toriel took off her glasses and wiped her hand across her face in disappointment.
"How many times have I repeated that your safety is prior?"
Her face was perplexed and she waved her hand lazily.
"You may go now, my child. Please, please consider being cautious for if at least not your own sake, but my sake. Your mother worries about your everyday."
You nod and head out the door.
The few classes you had next flew by (luckily), and it was now time for lunch.
The rain had stopped, but the floors were dark, and the skies were grey, with a few droplets that fell out of trees.
Most students took the bus to head up north to a well known shopping center with tasty snacks, but you weren't one of them.
You were the one who stayed in the campus courtyard. Although, you had your share of snacks for yourself.
Usually.
This time you didn't have anything to eat, so you walked around and read the bulletin:
Staff Meeting Tuesday
Karaoke Celebration on the 7th
Monster and Human Poster Collab on the Weekend
Graduates are Teachers for a Day! On Wednesdays
No other events were displayed for the time, except club meetings and such.
The bell rang again and you carried out your day with classes and studying.
Another bell rang, signaling the young adults to head out of school and end their day with whatever they want.
You would take a bus to your home and back, but the school didn't have the system, and nor did the bus schedules.
Home, here I come.
((( I hope you enjoyed, as usual. I feel like these are too short xC because i see other stories and woah they wrote 1000000 words)))
