When Katherine "Kat" Joseph (13) finds out her father gets a new job from Surrey (in England), things start to go downhill. How will she cope with a new beginning in a new country?
I woke up really excited — mainly because I got to see my friends after a really long summer break. I did my normal morning routine: I took a shower, brushed my teeth and put my hair in a ponytail. I went to my room and looked through my wardrobe, hoping to find the right outfit. After minutes of looking through my wardrobe, I finally found a decent outfit and put it on. (In the picture below)

I went downstairs for breakfast and sat down at the kitchen table. I heard my parents muttering about something but I decided to ignore them.
"So, what's for breakfast?" I asked looking at my mom while she was setting up the table.
"Pancakes." Mom replied as she finished setting up the table.
"Ooh, my favourite!" I said. I decided to check my phone to see if I got any notifications.

I opened my 'messages' app and tapped on Era's name.
Era🔐❤️: I'm sooo excited for school!
Me: Omfg same😂 I wonder if there's any new students at our school 😏
Era🔐❤️: Lol😂 Oh well I'm going to get ready for school so baiii💅
I turned my phone off and started eating breakfast. After I finished eating breakfast, I picked up my schoolbag and waved my parents goodbye.
