I walked in with the last box and gently set it down, kicking the door closed behind me.
"I can see the people watching out from behind these walls"I went over to the staircase and stepped quietly trying to look up.
Each step I took, the boards of the staircase creaked.
I stopped when I heard the whisper again. "I can see the people watching out from behind these walls"
"Who's there!" I shouted.
Nothing. It was silent.
I didn't care about being quiet anymore, so I ran up the stairs, making the boards creak really loud.
When I reached the top of the stairs, I looked around.
I turned and when I turned back..."Hi I'm Troy. I own half the house" a man held out his hand.
"How..how? We..we went through the whole house today and you weren't here.." I said, almost shaking.
"Don't be scared. I'm actually a really fun guy..unless you tell me your pregnet with my child" He laughed at the non-funny joke he made.
I rolled my eyes and tried to smile. He was kinda cute...but men are not my priority.
"I'm cat. Let's make this work. I get all the rooms down that hall and you get all the rooms down that hall. And downstairs we'll share a kitchen, dining room and maybe living room" I said, trying not to laugh at the smile he was wearing.
"There's only one bathroom up here though" Troy said, trying to put a goofy smile out.
"Fine we'll share that...but stay away from my stuff" I said, trying to be serious.
"Okay..I wouldn't want to get on your bad side" he laughed.
I rolled my eyes again.
