When Rylie woke up, she decided to clean herself up and go downstairs.
As she was walking down the stairs, everyone was turning their heads to face her, as if they knew everything that happened with Jake earlier before she took her nap.
"Hi everyone." Rylie said as she reached the bottom step. She looked around and when she met eyes with Jake she gave him a mean-I-don't-want-to-be-bothered-with-look. Sadly , the only seat that was left was the seat next to
Jake."What a tantrum that you had upstairs." Jake said with a smirk.
"I'm not talking you anymore." Rylie said with her arms crossed.
"Well, it looks like you are." Jake said as he was struggling his shoulders.
Rylie decided to ignore him, and she started a conversation about the upcoming wedding.
"So, what do you guys have planned for the wedding.""Well." Her dad said, "We've decided to have your wedding at the Baptist Church, that place has a lot of space and the inside is beautiful."
"Well, that sounds like a plan then." Rylie said with a positive attitude.
"Hold up!" Her dad said as she got out of her seat,"You and Chris, come here."
"Okay." Chris and Rylie got out of their seats, and they stood in front of Rylie's dad.
"Have you guys been bonding a lot lately?"
"Um, yeah"-
"Yes, we have, we have been getting along very well." Chris said as he hunched her shoulder.
"Yeah, we have been getting along very, very, very well." Rylie said trying to hide the truth.
"Ok, since you guys are getting along so well, prove it." Her dad said, getting the hint that they weren't so close.
"Ok" Rylie said, "But how?" At this point she kind of knew what he was trying to say.
"Ok, to prove it, I want you two to kiss." Frank said as he was folding his hands.
"Uh, okay." Rylie and Jake turned to face each other, Jake leaned in and planted one on her.
The kiss didn't last a very long time, but everyone at the table started to clap like a win at a football game.
Right at that moment, the door opened and Chris popped his head in the door.
"Hey everyone, what is all of the commotion." Chris said as everyone faded their clap. "Did I miss anything."
"Not too much.", Rylie said as she walked away.
"Jake, can you go check on her?", Frank said.
"The last time I tried that, she almost tore my head off."
"Please, just go talk to her." her dad said pleadingly.
"Fine." Jake said while huffing and puffing as he walked up the stairs.
"Hey" Jake said as he knocked on the door. "Can I speak to you?"
"Sure." She said as he tried to open the door.
"Well, I can't come in if the door is locked."
"You are not coming in, I can speak with you through the door. What exactly do you want?"
"I was thinking about the kiss, and I was going to see if you wanted to talk about things between me and you." Jake said, knowing that he kiss was probably the last thing that she wanted to talk about.
"Ok, the kiss was fine and all, what else?"
"Um, I was thinking that we shoul- never mind, I'll talk to you another time." Jake actually liked Rylie very much, but was not sure what she felt about him. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight to you too."
Rylie went to bed thinking that she might rethink this whole idea about the whole arranged marriage idea.
