General Red watched as the last solider fell to the ground and saw the back of General Woods on his horse as he left the battle field with his remaining troops.
She waited a few minutes before leaving her hiding place and sighing. 'Lost another battle, and couldn't even catch a glimpse of my enemy.' She grumbled as she snuck back into her camp.
She quickly got in her tent before any of her soldiers noticed a woman enter their general's tent. She crawled into the soft sheets and sighed happily. Settling down and forgetting any unnecessary thoughts about today, she fell into a light slumber.

Awaking the next morning, she changed into her everyday clothes. She looked down at her clothing and, deciding it was decent enough, snuck out of the camp and into town. She breathed in the clean air around her, relieved that no smell of blood and gunpowder filled the town.
She walked into the large market, smiling and greeting the kind people. 'Too bad the Emerald war had to take place in such a nice town.' She frowned before walking to a stand selling fruits. She reached for the apples and froze when she felt another person's hand instead.
Looking to her left, she was met with pale blues eyes and the blonde hair of a young man in his teens like her. He laughed nervously and handed her the fruit. "Sorry, m'lady. You reached for this first." He grinned, making her heartbeat speed up a bit as she stared. She took the fruit and smiled softly. "Thank you, good sir. May you be blessed." She paid for the fruit and began to walk away slightly faster than normal.
She didn't look back, disappearing into the large crowd of the marketplace. As she left the one stand, she for some odd reason felt her heart slightly break.
