Do you know how tiring it is to have to constantly check your hand to make sure your band-aid or ring stayed in place? That's been my constant struggle everyday for the last 23 years. All because of a damn birthmark. It's meant to help us find our soulmate but what's the point if it has to be covered until you find them. Here it's looked down upon for someone to show their mark. It's seen as a show of disrespect towards your other half. As if a mark on your skin should be seen as sacred. As you can probably already tell, I'm not interested in finding my "other half". The only plus to finding him/her is that I'll finally be able to stop hiding my mark. It's a beautiful crown on my ring finger that I would've loved to have under other circumstances. It could probably be pulled off as a tattoo because of its dark color. Surprisingly tattoos are allowed to be shown. Some people have so many that even if they didn't cover their mark, you probably wouldn't be able to tell. That is why everyone's mark is documented after their birth. Aside from my birthmark, you're probably wondering what I look like or who I even am. My name is Katherine but my friends call me Kat . I have pale skin, brown eyes, and wavy black hair that reaches the middle of my back. Pretty plain right?
