I could hear the rain poor and stop and start again and then stop and then start again and then stop and then it started again but it didn't stop. Of course, I decided to mute my T.V. and listen and watched the light from the thunder and lighting through my blinds. After awhile I decided watching it through my blinds was not enough so I threw my blanket off and as carefully and silently as I could I stepped over my cousin who was wrapped in my old pink comforter on the floor where all you could see was his short brown scruffy hair and his forehead. I sat in the chair of my desk that let out a little creek as I put my body weight on it. Then I reached for the small rope only using the light that the T.V. gave off, I found it and pulled it down and the blinds raised up out of the way. All I saw was darkness until the lightning illuminated the sky with a loud crack. I always loved the noise of the raindrops hitting the ground followed with the powerful sound of thunder and how the lightning would light the pitch black sky into a purple. I watched the lighting that would light the sky and I could see my open field it was hypnotizing until I saw something that wasn't right. I couldn't tell what it was because of the short amount of time I had to look at it.I sat there anticipating for the next strike of lighting. CRACK! the sky lit up again and I got a better look of what that thing was, but I wish I didn't. My heart pounded as I looked into the darkness where I last saw it. CRACK! it was in the same place as before but when I saw it again my heart sank with regret and fear, it was looking straight at me. CRACK! and again the sky was lit up but it was way too close. I screamed and fell out of my chair onto my cousin who of course woke up.

"What happened?" he exclaimed in a raspy voice

"th- there's something out there?" I practically shouted in terror.

"What?" He said quickly sitting up and turning his head towards the window.

CRACK! I could see the sky light up out of the corner of my eye. I was focused on my cousin and I watched as his face that went from confused then into sheer terror.

"wha- what did yo-"

before I could finish my sentence, CRACK! but this time it wasn't thunder.
