The room

None of this makes any sense. I've been here for three days now. There's nothing in this damned room except for a door and a window. I've walked through that door a million times, but I keep ending up here.

My hands and body are still covered in cuts from when I smashed the window and crawled through, but I somehow ended up back here. Even though I can see the outside through that window.

At least it's day now. Because at night...
He comes in through the door and torments me. I don't know why, but what I wonder about the most is...
How does he get in and out?

I'm tired of it, but I have a plan: There's some glass shards left in the window. I'll use those...
And kill him.

And so I sat there, huddled in a corner, until I heard his heavy footsteps through the hallway. I felt a smile creep up my face. I was so excited because I was finally going to be free...

I heard the door swing open as his loud voice filled the room: "Bright! How are you holding up, buddy."

As I got up and slowly turned around, I started laughing. I don't know what it was, but this amazing feeling came over me. Relief? Excitement? No, it was different. It was hard to describe.

"Not today, Zyng", I said as I approached him. The glass shard I was holding flashed light onto his face. "Today is going to be very different." I started laughing maniacally.

"What do you think you're doing", he replied. "Do you honestly believe I'll let you get close enough to stab me with that? I must have broken you sooner than I expected."

My smile grew even wider as I pulled more glass shards from underneath my shirt. I held them in between my fingers and crossed my arms and held them up, ready to throw the shards like knives.

"As if I'll let y-", he coughed up blood as the shards penetrated his chest right between his ribs.

"Good night, Zyng", I said as I pulled another, larger shard from my back pocket and rammed it through his throat.

He made a gurgling sound before his eyes rolled back and he dropped to the floor.

But then something happened that made even less sense than everything before: A part of the wall spontaneously turned into dust and revealed a doorway.

I walked through and noticed how I was in a different room now. Finally, I had escaped that hell. But the room I was in now wasn't much better...

There was blood all over the floor and walls that had dried up a long time ago. There was also a small pile of bodies in the corner as the smell of death crept up my nostrils.

I decided to make my way towards the door in this room, which was positioned right next to the bodies. As I grabbed the door handle, I felt a hand touch my ankle and quickly looked down.

One of the 'bodies' turned out to be alive and managed to mutter the word 'murderer' before passing on.

"Don't worry, pal", I assured him. "I already took care of Zyng."

I then proceeded to head into the next room, which was filled with shadowy, human shapes with bright white, piercing eyes.

I attempted to avert my gaze from them but could feel theirs piercing my soul. Why were they all looking at me like that?

I decided to close my eyes and walked towards the staircase before I hit my head against a metal object. I opened my eyes to see that I had walked straight into a rusty lamppost.

I then decided that it would be better to keep my eyes open.

As I proceeded to the next room, I entered a long hallway with a large door at the end.

I remembered that door...
It was the one I had entered this place through, but as I proceeded through the hallway I noticed something...

No matter how long I walked, I couldn't seem to get any closer to the door. I wouldn't quit though. I came too far and finally had a chance of leaving this place, which I wouldn't waste because of some weird hallway.

And so I spent hours walking in a straight line before, all of a sudden, I stood in front of the door.

I remembered how there wasn't a single thing in this place that made sense and decides to open the door and step through.

I was blinded by a bright light and covered my eyes. I then heard someone shout at me: "Put your hands where I can see 'em, Zyng! We got you this time!"

I opened my eyes to see a large group of armed police officers with their weapons aimed at me.

I told them that they were mistaken, that I had taken care of Zyng before the officer sighed and yelled: "Bright Zyng, you're under arrest!"

"Now it finally makes sense", I said to myself. I then started laughing maniacally once more.

"I'm warning you, Zyng! We won't hesitate to kill you and our superiors won't mind either!"

I continued laughing before I suddenly stopped and extended my arm towards them while saying: "Good night, fools".

As I said this, a large shadow appeared beneath my feet and extended towards the officers. It then grabbed them by the legs and started dragging them in.

Screams of terror filled the air, but I loved it and started laughing once again. That's when I noticed the person who had been watching me this entire time.

I shot a shadow at him, but he easily deflected it with his sword and said: "I like your style, kid. Now then", he extended his hand. "How would you like to come with me."

I grabbed it and replied: "Only if you tell me your name, since you seem to know mine."

"The name's Raze..."
