The drive home Alaska was in a trance, singing alone to any song that came on. She didn't even know what songs were on she just sang them.
Alaska ran into her house and poured out everything that had happened at practice and how much she missed playing. And how she wished she'd never given it up. Her aunt and uncle just smiled at her, the kind of smile you only get from parents when you've done something they are really proud of. Alaska gleamed with them.
All three of them gathered on the couch eating chicken and spinach pizza watching Forest Gump when a red house brick came crashing through the front window, with the intention of hitting Alaska. Alaska heard the window break and dodged out of the way. The brick nearly hitting her still injured leg. The person that threw it ran off laughing. Her uncle crashed to the ground beside her unconscious aunt. "Oh no." Alaska said aloud, her eyes getting wide as she falls to the ground beside her aunt cradling her head in her hands.
Her uncle turns to her, livid. "What the hell was that Alaska?!" He shouted. "I thought you were doing better!"
His face ash stricken. Tears started to form in Alaska's eyes.
"I am uncle Jay," she blabbered. "It's because I am doing better that they did this. It's because I left the gang." Her uncle slumps down. "It's because I wanted to be better for you and aunty. I left and they don't like that. The only reason they haven't beaten me yet is because I have Morpheus looking out for me." Tears are streaming down her face now. Her eyes all red and puffy. Her hair is starting to stick to her wet face. "I am so sorry."
All while Alaska says this her uncle is taking out his phone and calling 911. Alaska stays were she is and doesn't move, running her hands through her aunt's hair.
When the paramedics show up she refuses to let go of her aunt at any point. Whether Alaska is holding her hand, touching her stomach, or running her figures through her hair. Alaska refused to let go.

In the hospital a male nurse, and her uncle had to forcibly take Alaska away from her aunt and into a private sitting room. Still crying Alaska rocks back and forth in her chair. "It's all my fault, it's all my fault, it's all my fault." She repeats under her breath.
"Al, who did this?"
Alaska looks up. Dazed she doesn't know how much time has passed, minutes? Hours? She has not clue. Her uncle is talking but she can't hear. An officer hands her a pencil and paper. She writes the names. "Sam, or Meg" with no other context. The officer asks Jay who those two were, or so Alaska was guessing she shouldn't hear anything but her own heart beat and the sound of the breaking glass repeating in her head.
The officer leaves and gets replaced with a nurse asking if Alaska is okay or not. Alaska merely nods.
Her uncle Jay tries to take her outside for some fresh air. Alaska pushes him down and runs to the corner of the room and sits, facing the wall.
Alaska must have fallen asleep. She awoke in someone's arms. Her uncle's? She couldn't be sure.
She remembered this smell. She hasn't smelt it but once before maybe. Then reality came into focus and she was looking straight at Morpheus.
"I have to get back!" She exclaimed. Pushing Morpheus and pointing at the door. "My aunt!"
Morpheus grabs and carry's her to a bed. His bed? Alaska was still not sure. He places her down gently and covers her with a black blanket. He hands her a pill and a glass of water. Without thinking she takes it.
"That's it girly, sleep, your problems will still be here later, when you wake."
Morpheus sits down in a chair next to her. Alaska's eye lids fall and she sleeps.
~~~Alaska jumped to a start in the unfamiliar bed, with an unfamiliar noise. Sitting straight up in the bed she wipes a bead of sweat from her forehead. Morpheus is standing in the doorway. "Didn't mean to wake you girly, just needed a clean shirt. Go back to sleep." he smiled at her, although it was a weak smile, it comforted her, for that moment anyways. While all the memories flooded back into her previously clear mind.
"My aunt?" asked Alaska,
"The brick struck her in the head and knocked her out, they are keeping her in an induced coma so she can heal a little faster. I am getting regular updates from your uncle Jeb." he says when he sees the surprise on Alaska's face.
Just then does Alaska realize that she is in Morpheus's room and he is shirtless. He doesn't quite have a six pack but you can see the lines forming, or fading, depending on how you look at it. "I think you're blushing a little bit girly." he teases, with a slight grin on his face."No its just a bit hot under these blankets," she says while flinging the blanket to one side of the bed. Alaska places her elbows on her knees and puts her head into her delicate hands.
Morpheus puts on a black AC/DC shirt he was holding and walks over to Alaska, wrapping his arm around her. Knowing the comfort it could bring, not just by the touch but by him not speaking, just being there for her. Staying folded into his arms she hears the thumping of his heart, how it speeds up when she wraps her arms around him a little tighter and how it slows when she releases slightly.
"After breakfast, how about a drive?" Morpheus suggests. Alaska does one quick nod before getting up and walking to his bathroom.
Alaska had never been in his house before, not even before he had moved in. Downstairs was almost exactly like her home, only the décor was different of course.
"You have a beautiful home Mrs. Kimber." Alaska acknowledged. Mrs. Kimber beamed. "and thank you for letting me stay while my aunt is in the hospital."
"Thank you Dear, its not quite to my liking yet, but it will get there." Mrs. Kimber stopped and took a breath. "and its not a problem, its nice t know that Morpheus here has a nice friend here."
This time is was Morpheus who blushed.
"Now, who wants breakfast, honey I didn't know what you liked to I made a little bit of everything. no one leaves my house hungry."
On the table before her Alaska had never seen so much food, if this was a small amount Alaska could only imagine what Mrs. Kimber cooked on a normal day. There was bacon, pancakes, eggs, sausages, cereal, hash browns and fried potatoes mixed with onions and bell peppers.
"This looks great Mrs. Kimber," Alaska exclaimed excitedly.
~~~
After breakfast was done Alaska had stuffed herself so full she felt like a turkey on thanksgiving.
