"Thank you," Erin started as her and Connor entered his large house. "this means a lot." Connor smiled as he watched Erin's eyes lit up.

"No problem." He said and watched as Erin looked at his mansion in awe. "I've never seen a house so big!"

Connor smiled as he saw how excited Erin was getting, and decided it was time for a tour. "Come on, let me show you around."

Connor took Erin's hand in his and an electric shock went up his arms. A slight jolt in Erin's grip made Connor realize she had felt it to.

"So," Connor started, letting go of Erin's hand awkwardly while making his way up the steps. "This is my room, the bathroom, a couple guest bedrooms are down there, and uh, you can sleep in here tonight."

Erin stepped into the room and gasped, the white walls and white furniture were blinding, a soft looking bed sat in the middle of the room with a small chandelier hung from the ceiling.

"Thank you so much, Connor." She said, not taking her eyes off the room.

"There's a bathroom across the hall you can use if you need to, i'll just be downstairs." Connor replied and scratched the back of his neck, before turning around swiftly and disappearing around the corner.

Erin slowly walked into the room, careful to not get dirt from her clothes onto the white furniture. The first thing she decided to do was take a shower, she needed one. Erin walked across te hall and entered the bathroom, closing and locking the door behind her. She peeled off her clothes and started the shower, not bothering to look at herself in the mirror.

She was scared of what she'd see.

She hadn't had a shower in who knows how long, and her dirty face and hair were the last thing she wanted to see. Despite her looking the way she did, Connor still invited her into his home. She was grateful.

Erin stepped into the steaming water and sighed happily, letting the water relax her muscles and wash away the dirt, and the memories. She was safe, even if it was just for the night.

Erin's eyes closed as she let the water drop onto her skin, rubbing her hands through her hair. The puddle of water at her feet was brown, but it slowly started to grow clearer the longer she stayed under the water. She then put some shampoo in her hair, scrubbing it in.

Conditioner and body wash was next, and Erin stepped out of the shower feeling refreshed. Erin put her old clothes back on and sighed. Her skin and hair were clean, but there was so much more Erin wished she could have done.

She wish she could've shaved, changed into nice clothes, brushed her hair and her teeth.

Erin still smiled though. She was grateful she got to atleast shower.

She exited the bathroom and made her way down the stairs in search of Connor. "Hi," Connor said from behind her, exiting the living room. "Did you have a shower?"

"Yeah, it was nice." Erin said, excited that she got to have one. "My friend has some girl stuff she can give you to use, extra's. You know, she bought a package of razors and toothbrushes and stuff and had some extra."

"Thank you," Erin said smiling. "This really means a lot to me."

"She has some clothes you can have to, she said she'll drop by in about twenty minutes. She's a girlfriend of one of my teammates." Erin nodded, the smile never leaving her face.

The next couple of hours spent between Erin and Connor was awkwardly sitting on the black leather couch watching sports highlights. Erin sat awkwardly on the couch with her hands folded in her lap, her eyes avoiding the televsion. Connor sat on the love seat slouched, with his leg propped up on the table and his arm rested behind his head. His other hand held the remote.

"So," Erin said awkwardly as Connor turned his head to look at her. "I know you play hockey but do you watch any other sports?"

Connor nodded slowly and focused his gaze on her instead if the tv. "I like to watch Baseball, sometimes Basketball. Just whatever's on tsn."

Erin nodded and lifted her head to look at the flat screen tv mounted onto Connors wall. "Cool."

Another moment of silence filled the air before a knock on Connors door made him stand up. "Uh, thats probably the girl I was telling you about. Her name's Kelly. I think Cam, her husband and my teammate is with her too."

"Oh, alright." Erin replied and stood up awkwardly, following Connor's actions. "Come on." Connor encouraged and walked to the door, Erin following closely. Connor gave Erin one last encouraging smile before turning the door handle and pulling to reveal a girl with long blonde hair.

"Hey Connor," the girl smiled, patting his shoulder and moving past him into the house. A man followed behind her into the house. "this must be Erin." The girl smiled again and pulled her in for a hug. "I'm Kelly! Nice to meet you."

"H-hello." Erin said awkwardly and played with the hem of her shirt. "Where's the kids?" asked Connor, while his fist smacked against Cam's. "With the sitter. We're going out to dinner after."

"Nice." Connor said as Kelly set the bag full of clothes down. "Here's some stuff," she said, smiling. Erin smiled back and her eyes lit up at the amount of clothes she now head. "Thank you so much, Kelly." She said eagerly pulled the girl in for another hug. "Anytime, Erin."

As soon as Kelly and Cam left, Erin wanted to look through the bags. She was excited she'd finally have more then one outfit. Connor offered to help take the bags up to Erin's room and Erin nodded. "Thank you." Erin said politely as her and Connor tuggged the bags up the stairs. "No proble-"

"No," Erin cut him off as they got to the top of the stairs. Connor looked at her, confused. "Thank you for everything. For letting me stay, for getting me some clothes and stuff. It's been a long time since i've had this. Thank you."

"It's not a problem, Erin. I mean it."

Erin smiled, and Connor returned the gesture. The two stood at the top of the stairs, staring at eachother. Erin never noticed how beautiful brown eyes were before. The sun was shining through the curtains at the top of the steps, and Connor's eyes had melted into a golden ray. It was almost as if an eclipse had taken over his eyes. Brown eyes weren't boring to Erin, not anymore.

Erin use to love the night, but Connor's eyes made her love the daylight even more.
