"I think we lost them." Adam was out of breath, he and Crying Child had been running for the past twenty minutes. He noticed something in the corner of the room.
"Look, it's an old Springlock suit." It was a cat of some kind. On its arm was probably the name of it.
Shadow.
It came to life and started singing.
"Closer look?" Adam didn't wait for a response from his brother before picking him up and carrying him over to the suit.
"No no no NO NO NO, WAIT ADAM DON-"
"Give it a kiss, why don't ya?" Adam couldn't stop grinning at Crying Child's reaction.
"NO!"
"Don't be so dramatic. It's not gonna kill-"
Clash.
Snap.
Crunch.
Blood.
If you don't know somethings going to happen or not, don't say it won't. Because then it usually will.
Adam saw the Crying Child's head had been crushed in the mouth of the suit. He had no idea how it managed to happen, it just did. Adam pried open the suit.
He was way to late to save him. The body dropped to the floor.
"C-crying child?" Adams voice was small, "get up. Stop joking. I know you're trying to make me feel bad. I'm not falling for it. This isn't funny! Crying child!?"
His heart sank as he realised.
"Max?"
He dropped to the ground in a fit of tears. He hated himself for all the times he had teased, bullied, gave his brother Nightmares. He hated how he hadn't stopped to consider anything, how he felt. He hated how the consequences had just come running back and slapped him in the face. There was a weight in his chest and a hole in his already empty heart.
"I'm sorry." He cried, choking on his words, "I'm so so so sorry. Oh god. I'm sorry. It's not fair on you. It's all my fault, this is all my fault."
He felt like carving out his soul and feeding it to an animal.
"I've just killed my brother."
Yeah. This is not okay. Plushtrap just died two chapters ago and now I kill the crying child. Or Max, as I should call him.
Yeah. Not okay. Oops.
