That night, curled up under the glimmering moonlight, Naylan asked, “So what do you think of the guys?”

I smiled, “They’re okay.” I flipped over on my side as so she didn’t see the blood rushing to my cheeks. “I think Harry likes you.” I felt her shift around in the bed and mumble on about setting up a date, but I couldn’t quite hear her.

-

“Wow you look happy!” Jeremy smiled at me as I walked in through the door, “Boy you have no idea! God I slept so well!”

I get behind the cash register and wait patiently for customers. My thoughts trailed off to Liam and his captivating eyes and I could feel my heart thump against my chest, “Hey!” Jeremy snapped and I spun around. He chuckled at my frightful reaction as if I were an amusing toy he just discovered, “You could explore the rest of the store. I’ll take over the register if you’d like.”

“You sure?” That was awfully kind of Jeremy considering how much this business means to him. He nodded, “Yeah Sunday’s are usually a slow day for us and I’ve moved all the dusty boxes. Go.” He smiled and pushed me outside of his station.

I jumped up the stairs two at a time and arrived breathlessly and began to wander in the ocean of literature that stood before me. I fingered around the spines and picked up a couple books. I tucked them under my arm neat fully and made my way to one of the moldy looking lounging chairs and eased my way into it.

I propped up my feet on the arm rest and immersed into the amazing adventure of Alice in Wonderland. I was extremely absorbed by the hectic wonderland that I completely lost track of time, “Hey I’m closing up. Do you want to stay locked in here or what?” Jeremy asked from the staircase. His face scrunched into a sneeze as he lifted the collar of his ACDC t-shirt to his nose.

“Bless you and no I just got lost in the book. I uh loved the movie, but the book is better, so far.” I smiled and showed him the cover. He chuckled and nodded, “Keep it.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah I’ll just dock it off your paycheck.”

“Ass.”

We erupted in laughter as I put the books back and we walked downstairs. I came home and the foreign exchange students, but no Liam. I bit my lip as I interrupted their little meeting.

I walked into the kitchen and began to reheat the left over Chinese takeout Naylan bought, “Hey.” The voice slurred so sexily I shuddered. I knew it wasn’t Liam. He was more friendly and shy. This voice oozed confidence and cockiness.

“Hi.” I took my plate and began to gobble it up. “So um there’s this football match against UCLA in a couple weeks and I was wondering would you like to go?”

I stopped with a noodle half way into my mouth. I slurped it up and chewed politely and gulped. “I uh don’t really like football.”

I grin cracked on his perfect face. He seemed as if he belonged on a magazine not in my kitchen. “It’s not football; I meant uh what do you American’s call it?” He asked cheekily, the apple of his cheeks turning a light shade of pink.

“Oh you mean soccer?” We laughed softly and he nodded squeezing his eyes shut causing a million little crinkles to surround his eyes, “Yeah that!”

“Well that’s definitely better than football,” I laughed and his eyes pleaded for an answer, “Sure I’ll go.”

He flashed me an award winning smile, “Great. I’ll see you later.” H stuffed his hand deep inside his pocket and jogged off.
