Zara jumps on my bed , causing me to tumble to the ground . Startled I struggle to get to my feet. She does this every time Niamh asks her to help with wake up. My hair is tangled as if a firework had gone off in it. " time to get up ! " Zara sings in an oddly pleasant voice for the morning. " help me get everyone else up , then get dressed because breakfast if ready " she practically hollers. I mumble a noise of somewhat agreement as I shakily make my way down the hall to get the other girls. Quinn , a younger girl about the age of seven was already making her way to the lavatory to clean up . She was probably woken by Zara's hollering. Other however needed quite the push to get out of their bed chambers and crash themselves. Daisy is one of my favourites , she is only rounding to be 5 but has already developed a wonderful literacy skill. Her beach blond hair has not been cut since she arrived at the home a few months ago. I make my way over to beside her bed, she sleeps an awful lot like I do , limbs thrown astray hanging off of all parts of the bed. She slowly awakens as I shake her body gently back and forth. " hiya Em" she says in a shaky morning voice "time to get up hun. If you get cleaned up fast then you can have first pick at breakfast " I say in my most childish voice. Daisy get out of bed faster than I the majority of the girls in the house could and rushes to the lavatory to put on her morning robes. Zara and I heard up the rest of the girls and help them find either their school pinafores or their collared tops and butt n down slacks. Finally we make it down to the dining area where the older girls have neatly placed our food on serving platters and doilies. " are we all prepared for grace ?" Bethany asks , her eyes fluttering over all the girls at the table. " yes Bethany " we all say in chorused voices. " who would like to say it this morning " Niamh asked as she enters holding a platter of pastries and fresh preserves. Many girls raise their hands the multitude of which I am sure do not know the morning grace as well so others. Bethany's eyes skim overtop of everyone landing on Florence, a bright eyed 8 year old whom I am sure has memorized all of our graces without any sort of hassle. " Lord, God our saviour " she begins , her voice steady and strong " bless us for we must now venture into a new day . Starting with this meal that we thank you kindly for . " some of the girls at the end of the table begin to stir. I can see Zara's fists clench in from the hands of prayer to a sight of anger. The other girls see it to , with a few worried glances they become silent and remain so throughout the rest of the prayer . " very nice , thank you " the elder girls remark once Florence completes our grace. We smile a smile of agreement. " you may now begin " Lilly says with a smile browning across her smooth, pale face .
