BEEP BEEP BEEP, Jacenda groaned out loud turning her alarm off. It's her first day of work at the child center and waking up early never put a smile on her face. Walking to her dresser she played her morning play list starting off with of course flawless "What to wear what to wear" she tapped her chin looking through her closet when her phone went off, she checked the caller I'D "MY PAIN" went across her screen "hey Conner" she spoke into the phone with a big smile on her face still searching for something to wear "hey wassup jay you ready yet?" Finally settling on a pair of black jeans and a plain grey shirt "nope barley getting dressed " "cooooome oooon you should've been up an hour ago" she rolled her eyes heading to the bathroom to do her hygiene "shut up be here in 30 min" she hung up and started her morning.
Exactly thirty minutes later her best friend Conner stood at her door "ready yet?" He flopped down on her bed playing with her phone "almost" she called out from her bathroom, picking up her black baseball cap and giving herself one last look in her mirror "daame someone is looking sexy today" she rolled her eyes with a smile on her face "come on I need to get to work" He bit his lip looking over her body one more time, a low growl was heard coming from his chest "why are we just friends again?" She smirked walking past him down to the car "because I'm not your mate " he chuckled rubbing his neck walking behind her "I wish you were" he grabbed her waist kissing her cheek, Jacenda's cheeks started to burn she scrunched up her nose swatting him away "boy get in the car and take me to work before I'm late" he smiled hopping in the car "whatever you say my princess" with a smile on her face he started the car driving off.
Jacenda was singing along to the radio when Conner turned it down "hey I was singing to that" she reached out to turn the music back up but he smacked her hand away. "Jacenda why are we playing games" he kept his eyes straight forward she knew he was being serious, "what are you talking about conner?" He smirked glancing at her for a moment "me and you... we belong together we should be together...but we're not" jorden sighed knowing where this was going "Conner we've been over this" he grabbed her hand "yes we have I've told you a million times I'll never find her and even If I did I'd still choose you..." she laughed pulling her hand away "she would be your mate dumbass just because im human doesn't mean the rest of my family arnt werewolves " she rolled her eyes "I know what rejecting your mate can do and I'm not okay with that..im not your mate end of story" Conner grabbed the wheel tighter making his knuckles turn white, The rest of the ride was quiet.
He pulled up to her job they sat in silence. She had fifteen minutes before she was late "we've been friends since diapers Conner..your my best friend and I love you" she looked out the window at passing pups with there mothers "If I could have it my way I'd want us to be together too but the goddess didn't have it in her plan" she looked over at him he was glaring out the window his jaw clenched "who says she can dictate our lives" he sighed running his hands through his hair, he looked over at her "just think about it Jacenda it's your life choose what you wanna do" she smiled at him and kissed his cheek "I gotta go" Jacenda got out of the car walking towards the Care center "I won't give up on us jay!" He yelled at her as he pulled away. She shook her head smiling to herself this was a lot to think about.
