Despite my desperate protests against Vivian walking home with me, she still insisted on accompanying me.

"Just like old times,"said Vivian happily and looped one of her arms around mine.

I pressed my lips into a thin line, not wanting to answer for fear of saying something I'd regret as soon as it was out of my mouth.

There was an awkward silence hanging in the air as we walked, neither of us knowing quite what to say. We had drifted apart so much, it felt like speaking to a stranger.

"So you're dating Kane now?"asked Vivian finally breaking the silence.

I shrugged half-heartedly,"Not really."

"What?"she asked, stopping in surprise.

"Just some stuff happened,"I responded vaguely.

"What stuff? You know you can tell me anything right?"

Again, I shrugged,"It's nothing."

"Obviously it's not nothing if Kane pretended to be your boyfriend and I heard Yvonne say he was following you everywhere,"spat Vivian.

Feeling a surge of irritation shoot through me, I glared at her,"So? I said it's nothing, you wouldn't understand anyways so just drop it."

"Yes I would!"she shrieked shrilly.

"Just drop it,"I said, trying to control my temper.

"Why!? Why can't you just tell me! We used to tell each other everything!"

"Exactly, we used to,"I said nastily.

"It's because of the guys isn't it? They warned me about you, but I didn't listen because you're my best friend and now I'm regretting it. They were right about everything, they said you were a two-faced bitch and always manipulated people to get what you want,"screamed Vivian, red in the face from anger.

Emotions of betrayal, anger and hurt flooded through me.

"They're wrong, I've never done anything like that and you know it. It's them that are manipulating you, they're practically obsessed with you and a few months back they threatened me to keep my distance from you,"I yelled back, trying to hold back tears.

Vivian gazed at me in confusion before a flitting emotion of concern painted her pretty face,"A-are you serious?"

"You don't have to believe me but please understand that I'm telling the truth, they're dangerous and you should just stay away or avoid them altogether,"I said, pleading with her.

Vivian nodded hurriedly, reaching for me,"Don't worry I believe you, and I'm sorry about what I said, I was just angry."

Reaching for each other, she embraced me in a tight hug, rubbing my back. As I looked over her shoulder, my heart leaped out of my chest as I saw Axel standing in the distance with a stoic expression on.

It was as if the world had started spinning as I felt a nauseous feeling rising in my chest. Jerking back from the hug, I tried to keep my hands from shaking. Putting on the most convincing smile I could manage, I faced Vivian.

"I'm sorry about everything but I really need to go, I forgot I had to meet someone..."I said trailing off.

Vivian narrowed her eyes suspiciously,"Oh really, who?"

"Yvonne,"I replied truthfully.

Immediately she relaxed,"Oh I see."

I nodded, not sure how to respond.

Turning she started walking away but quickly turned back to call out to me,"Bree!"

I looked over my shoulder cautiously,"Yes?"

"I'm sorry about what I said and I hope nothing's changed between us."

"Yeah,"I said before continuing the walk back to my house, but somehow I still couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched.
