While we was in the car this nigga actually had the nerve to put in his aux cord and play some song by Lloyd. "Nigga what the fuck do you think you're doing?"...Awe shit this my song girl you know I can relate to this song and you can too just listen to it, Detrell said. I huffed because I really wanted to listen to PnB-Selfish. As I listened to this song I start to think back to where everything was perfect with my dad. I was a daddy's girl I never knew that I wouldn't really hear from him anymore. It was just like yesterday I remember this day like it was nothing.

*Flashback*

*Glass shattered and all you heard was screams. Little Kali (at the age of 5) heard her mom scream NO DON'T DO THIS TO US PLEASE !! Kali got up from her bed and opened her door to only see her mom on the ground holding her dad's leg.

Kali's dad: "No i can't do this I don't feel the same about you anymore I found somebody whose actually willing to sacrifice their life for me."

Kali's mom: "Baby I did sacrifice myself for you I gave you somewhere to stay, I gave you a child,I gave you unconditional love, I gave you EVERYTHING I had got DAMMIT!!!"

Kali dad: I don't give a damn *he kicked her in the face* Now let me go hoe

Kali ran to her mommy...Mommy are you okay? Daddy why did you hurt mommy? Where are you going daddy? Do you still love me? Her dad just looked at her in disgust he couldn't believe that he had a daughter with someone like her mother. He just shouted "you'll forever live in the darkness until you get older you little tramp." Little Kali didn't know what he meant by that so she just sat there with her mom and that was the last time she ever saw her dad.

I wiped my tears away just thinking about what he said to me as he left me and my mommy just sitting there. Detrell looked over and saw how out of it she was so he told her "it'll be okay I'm here for you cousin." Little did she know Detrell felt the same way about his parents both of them had left him and his little brother Andrew in the darkness as well but he over came it and started to move on with life. I just don't understand why he would say that to me especially at the age I was. Kali was so hurt and needed answers about what he meant by "You'll forever live in the darkness until you get older." As they arrived to school Kali found her same parking spot in the back her and Detrell got out the car only to find her best friends Ralli, Tinisha (tiny for short), Reggie, and Lexie smoking in the car next to them. Kali shook her head and laughed at them fools. Detrell told Kali bye and he would see her later while he went to go find his friends because he knew what time it was.

Kali ran to Reggie's car and started pounding on the window. "Damn Bit...Oh hey Kali wassup girl don't be banging on my shit like that, Reggie said. Tiny and Ralli laughed because they knew their daily routine. Kali would bang on Reggie car and he would get mad and then invite her into the car to smoke. She really needed it this time because that flashback in her car had in deep thoughts. Lexie was the first to notice how off Kali was "Kali what's wrong home girl talk to us?" Lexie asked.
